Default A 4.5 from the Russian judge

I'm not sure who got the worst of Aldo's crash today him or me. Here is our hero moments before being launched through the air.

His dive had a high degree of difficulty. His form through the air was perfect. The landing however - an improved American Bellyflop was off the mark. Unfortunately I chose to lay my bike too close to the trail. Aldo's body landed on top of my bike in a violent collision of man and metal.

Fortunately Aldo walked away without any injuries. This is pretty amazing given the nature of the crash. It was truly scary to watch.

My bike wasn't so lucky. At first I thought it was just a broken derailleur hanger but after installing my spare hanger then the wheel it was obvious there were serious problems. There's something bent in the rear triangle. I'll need to spend more time figuring out the problem but my day was done and I limped the bike back to the truck.

Aldo - I know you feel bad about this but seriously - It's not your fault. Don't sweat it.

After watching Jose roll this section on his bigwheel, Aldo decided to give it another go. This time he was successful. He even managed to pick up a few passengers on the way down!

I better get busy wrenching. I have bikes torn apart all over my garage.

Such sweet sweet poetry!

Thanks for the cool report playya bub!! The crash was a little scurry, It really looked worse than what it was from where I was standing. And then on his second try @ the end of the roll it almost looked like he was about to take off again but lucky him got control of the landing and made it trough. GREAT job VATO LOCO!!

My little report is that the weather was working with us today and the trail was in great condition. We ended up doing some more drops and climbs that made for a kick as ride!! Thanks for showing up and Thank You Aldo for pushing for more climbing!! I really had a great time! lets do it again ehh.

gracias C-man!!

It looks like one of the rock gardens on the bottom 1/3 of the trail after the right hander.

Craig, now that's a ride report... You're setting the bar very high for the junior membership. Man am I ever tooo far forward, no wonder I went OTB. I just noticed the expression on Jose's face, about as telling as mine, priceless.

Actually the freakiest part of the crash was seeing and knowing I was coming down on your bike. I've got nice lacerations on my hip, from landing on your bike's rear wheel but outside of that I'm now O.K. Thanks for the cactus removal, I haven't noticed any stragglers.

I do feel bad that your bike got the worst of it, and you had to conclude your ride. I hope you got back O.K., and I owe you some grub and brews.

Props. to Jose for pushing us through the end of the ride. We ended up doing a trail at the bottom of Old Emerald that heads south to the base of a very high-rent district of Laguna.

I dig the LCWP/El Moro combo.

p.s. regarding my diet... chilly cheese dogs w/onions @wenersnitzel, mmmmmmmm

I hate those russian judges. Sounds like it should have been at least a 6.2
