Admittedly, though, I would rather work in my own backyard, say, fixing the San Sevaine singletrack or building more in the hills here than driving 40 miles to Irvine and working on trails I probably wouldn't ride often, if at all.

If you only build for your self , is it giving back?

Too bad for you. I've made good friends and contacts working trails in the surrounding countys. Even though I have never rode them or even gone back to ride them , I know I am adding to the comunity of bikers as a whole. A little trail sanitation does not hurt as much if it means more kids or old folk can enjoy their outdoors. In the end they will also want to keep the better maintained trails open.

Bikes and travel are synonymous.

Hey I "give back" every time i ride - its' call the parking fee. can you say adventure pass, state park pass, county park pass, etc. if time is money than money is my time

Maybe some of the revenue from all the fees can be used to have the park worker build/maintain the trails and not used to "balance the budget"

Personally have done some vol work in the past but family and work provides minimal time for other opps. candidaly if i got free time rather ride than work but appreciate all the hard work done by others

My son, Dillon, and I had a great time helping out the IMBA crew this past week-end. He was able to get community service hours for high school requirements. Pretty cool, doing something he really enjoys and giving back at the same time.
It was nice to see some new faces out there this time (Dean, 'Chelle and others). Hopefully, we will see more people out there as the opportunity arises. Jam'r has some interesting plans this Sunday.
