Default Mt.SacCourse

So Chris (Sharky), Brandon (B-rad) and I (Sauce/Dert/Sarah) went to the Mt. Sac course today. Oh boy. That thing is far from done. We road about (and walked through poop and hopped fences) looking for the full course, but it's not there yet. We went to Bonelli instead. The bit of the course we did do, however; was mostly fireroad -- climbs, dh and switchbacks. Nothing technical, although it was a bit loose in places -- especially at the switchbacks. That was the first mile or two. I'm not sure what's after that -- we will re-visit the course the Wednesday before the race and get back to ya!
PS -- give Chris a female version of the "str" speech. She seems to think she should not race Mt. Sac. She should. Definitely. It's time to break out the peer pressure.

Nah...that ain't gonna work (especially the current version). I'll be there for STR support. Still a good day for a ride and great meeting the Saucy Sarah...I can tell you she'll do great in the race. She's fearless and kicked butt. PLUS she has a killer Blur!! Damn Bonelli...raced to my car before the rear went completely flat then the front was flat by the time I got home. Thanks Brandon. We gave it our best shot finding the route. lol
Jumping fences was cool !!

Ohhh (next post) Dude...thanks for bringing up the near endo...
Watch it !! Just remember I'm the queen of twig flippin' !!! That'll definitely come in handy on the competition at the race, too

the full course crosses temple east of the track then crosses back across temple towards the end of the lap. you may have to venture through some of the cow pastures on al poly property.

It's almost impossible to ride the course till they have it marked. They've changed it slightly every now and then, but for the most part the ride remains the same. Chris you really should do it, just for the experience. It's fun. Don't worry about wher you finish, just get out and give it a go. You won't regret it.

6 Miles is no prob. I normally ride more miles than that...that's not it. I relate to Gurp as in I want to be fast and not eating dust the whole way. Not sure I'd be ready by race day. I know I know DO IT FOR FUN they say but I need to do well if I go. I've been that way in any sports I've competed in...just me. BUT I will be there for support of all you there . Should be a blast either way!!

AND what is the female version STR speech???

Sharky, I got your back here. Racing isn't for everyone. I don't think it's for me, anyway. I got my donkey handed to me big time. Maybe some time later I will want to race again. I just want to be strong enough to compete and not blow up like the last time. Mostly, I just like to ride. I don't really care about fast. I just like fun. And, having one person after another holler my new nickname "Onyerleft" at your over and over just isn't my idea of fun. Of course, I think you'd be faster than that, but still.

Just for whatever its worth, the course is WAY different this year. It will not venture onto Cal Poly at all, but there will be one tunnel.. I have gathered that some of it will be run backwards, and they will also venture much further back onto the Mt. Sac property. This is all what i've gathered in a short convo with the race organizer. Def cant wait though!

That was quite the adventure! Nothing better than riding through cow poo on a brand new shiny bike! At least it wasn't completely white like Sarah's silly little blur!

And thats ok Chris, it takes a real woman to race a course like that!!

Yeah, the test ride is on the first day, it's called the first lap. j/k. They're suppose to put up a course map (http://as.mtsac.edu/fattire/courseinfo.html), but it hasn't been posted yet.
