Pacific Coast Highway #226 Corona Del Mar CA 92625 About SHARE: SHARE Mountain Bike Club is a non-profit, IMBA affiliated, organization dedicated to promoting responsible mountain biking. We organize trail work, we have educational programs, we host events, and we ride! Our trail maintenance programs are focused on the local State and County parks but we also help with work and events in the Cleveland National Forest. SHARE was founded in 1988 in an effort to present mountain biking in a positive light to the management of Crystal Cove State Park. The focus was then, as it is now, on advocacy through trail work and education.

The whole park was open to the event and stations were set up at:
1. bottom of the park - Trivial Pursuit 2. Top of the first Bitch - Trivial Pursuit 3. Top of the third Bitch by the Power Line - Horseshoes but you're tossing an inner tube at a moving rider 4. Weir Canyon Entrance - sit ups, yeah after climbing a hill, do as many sit ups in 15 secs 5. Weir Canyon - push ups, after climbing another hill 6. Bottom of Waterfall - Wheel of Fortune this is my favorite trail in the park. 7. Roving station - I never found the dude. The event was fun and I think we climbed a little over 1700ft in 7 miles. My legs were toast. Ellsworth, Felt, Intense, and Trek were there with a fleet of demo bikes. I took a quick spin on a new Felt Equilink bike. For a XC bike, the pedaling was amazing, it was very neutral. Nothing seemed to affect the pedaling when going over objects. Compared to my Truth, it was very similiar but the Felt would break loose when I hammered on pedals climbing. Different tires would have made a difference I think. Very nice bike. Oh yeah, the food was good to boot. Big thanks to The Path, Share, and all the sponsors for the event. They did a great job and I'm looking forward to the next one. |
