Default Sundays Single Speed Ride

Strawberry Peak Loop, San Gabriel Mountains

First thanks to Epic Riders for another great ride and Nam and Justin from Orange County for joining us. About 13 of us started the ride, a couple bailed out before Josephine Saddle. I did not count, but it was about a 50/50 mix between singlespeeds and geared bikes. I am not doing a trail report because I do not know anyone that has been on SPT...if you have not been on it you suck.

Matt (Burner) busted out his new Vulture for its maiden voyage. Very sweet custom built 29 inch fully rigid singlespeed. Kudos to you for being brave enough to try a unknown trail for a maiden ride. Pictures do not do the bike justice, it does not capture the metal flakes.

Yeah, def a great ride today. I wasn't prepared for the weather at the start, but it ended up being a great day all-around.

Dean, you have a knack for taking pictures. Good ones. Riding this today on the ss has shown me how far I've lost my ss ability from not riding it. But the dh was a blast and I can't believe I didn't crash once. Must have been due to all that road biking. Keeps you looking at the trail constantly, that and the fact that Tin was breathing down my neck. Damn, sometimes I thought he was so close he was sitting on my seat. Then he'd start hollering... Funny! That was a fast ride and real fun too.

Nice pics Glen, I liked the ones with the clouds that shows how blue the sky is up there. That trail has never disappoints me.

Thanks, guys. I used my Canon Powershot SD450 with the "My Colors" setting that takes pictures with saturated color as if it was on slide film. I didn't touch them up in Photoshop. That's how they came out of the camera. I did it to emphasize the greens and blue sky. It helps me not to miss my SLR and polarizing filter as much.
