Default Toughest climb at Aliso

This was briefly mentioned in another thread. But which climb, in your opinion, is the toughest at Aliso and why.

For some reason Cholla is hard for me. Mathis seems much easier.

Really? Cholla seems the easiest for me. I've only tried meadows once but that kicked my ass and made me get off a couple times. I guess a return trip is in order to see if I do any better now. Mathis is long but not too bad unless you burn out on the bottom half.

Meadow is the toughest one I have attempted (out of Meadow, Rock-It, Mathis, Cholla). It's one of my favorites. But haven't tried Lynx or Canyon Acres. I went down Canyon Acres once and I think it would be extremely painful to climb.

Meadows used to own me. I finally started cleaning it on about the 5th lung busting attempt. The switchbacks were tough without enough momentum. I've never tried to climb Lynx or Canyon Acres though so I can't say if those would be harder or not.

Hans Rey is about the only person around that could climb Stairsteps. Adam can climb Lynx...when it is not loose.

On that side of Hwy 133, Canyon Acres, it is not tech, but steeper than anything else out there. I can climb Cholla and Mathis but not Meadows.

I think the steepest fireroad climb in Laguna is Laguna Bowl Road.

That sounds tough just pedalling out of the parking lot. For me, I've done meadows twice, both times it kicked my butt. The second time was a little easier, since I knew what to expect, but I was still off the bike twice.

Meadows wins because few attempt to climb Canyon Acres.

Mathis has to be the easiest. its a grind but no issues on steepness nor tech. Aside from that have only climbed cholla and Rock-it(aslos been down both) . been down meadows and lynx(but not up). of all those actually think lynx would have been the toughest climb.

Lynx by a landslide for me. (It's short but the steep loose section is rarely cleaned on the first attempt, if at all.)

Rock-it comes in second. (Usually a couple guys will clean it on a group ride.)

Cholla, Mathis & Meadows are routinely cleaned by riders.

Default Lynx

I've only tried Lynx, Mathis, and Cholla. Lynx by far because it was loose and I recall having to negotiate over railroad ties that would kill my momentum. However, it's been 10 yrs since I've tried Lynx.

Cholla was tough because of the rough terrain but once I figured out I need to go around the rocks instead of over it it's been easier.

IMO, Lynx is the toughest currently because of the loose sand, but it's a pretty nice climb in the winter, (although I've yet to clean it on the SS).

Canyon Acres to me is the toughest overall grind because of its length.

Most of steps is doable except for the tight chute near the bottom, and of course the steps near the top.

The rest of them are just plain fun to climb, but then again I'm biased since I like climbing.
