Cool Just back from vacation - MT Pinos

Just back from one of the best vacations ever. Went to Fraizer Park, Mt Pinos, and landed on some freestyle riding on a ranch that belongs to a friend of my dad.

Mt. Pinos was a perfect ride to test my riding level and I couldn't have ask for a more perfect day. Temp was between 60 and 70 degrees the whole time we were there. Camped, and rode mt bikes the whole time. Rode up Mt Pinos on July 4th, started up the trail head about 12:30, rode the 6 miles up on my bike and rode down on Chris' Cannondale, with 7" of travel what a difference! I was right behind him the whole way down, it was bitchen! Finished the ride around 4pm.....More pix and ride report to come.

We had a great time....seriously did not want to come back. We meet some very cool people up there and I think we made some new friendships so we'll be going back before the end of the summer.
Why is it that camp food taste so damn good?

Did you guys ride all the way up to the peak? It seems like the Nordic Parking area is the top but there is another mile to go.

Dean I believe we missed that last mile. We made it to the top, where Mt. Pinos camp site is accross the highway a few miles, but I hear there was some extra credit on the other side of the camp grounds. The locals, as well as some central cal trail riders we were camping with (on horse back), told us about some other trails we need to check out. Don't worry we'll be back to find them.

Wanted job that allows me the time to check out all these cool trails.

If you stopped at the campground there is a bunch more climbing to get to the top. The way EpicRiders took me it was like a 8 mile, 3700 foot climb. I would do that ride again any day.

Yup that must be the one that the locals told us about after the fact.
