RR: Sycamore Canyon Rockstacles
Andy (Onlyontwo) and I decided to skip Southridge and ride locally. so we headed to Sycamore Canyon in Riverside to try to find some fun rocks to play around on. We did this last Sunday and Tuesday as well and we are finding more things to play on as our eyes are opened up to the possibilities and as we start to ride more things.
First we checked out an area where some downhillers had built some ladders and stuff a few years ago. It's almost all been dismantled, but there was one ladder propped up on a rock. We looked at some of the possibilities and then rode the one ladder. We'll be back to look for more stuff.  On the way back to the main trail there was a rock drop. I think this was the biggest one we hit all day and I was pretty psyched when I rode it.  Here's the 2nd try. This felt much better as the rear suspension sucked up most of the impact.  Then we made our way over to another trail. Here there was a drop that we had seen other people ride, but we had not. First Andy and I sized it up and tried to figure out if the wind would bother us.  I hit it first.  Andy hit it 2nd.  We finished up with a small little double that Andy made quick work of. Light was fading, so it was hard to stop the motion. The blurred photo makes him look really fast.   It was a fun ride and we made the most out of our local trails. ~R |
