nice, but..
as others have said, you should be scoulded for NOT riding coldwater, you were RIGHT there! coldwater is considered by some as the best SA descent there is. it drops ~3600 in 5 miles

I have it at 20 miles and 3,921...but its a Garmin so there always seems to be a fluctuation. A geologist once told me it had to do with pressure waves in the atmosphere, they could noticeably effect the altimeter reading on many common units. Over my head, but seemed really logical, and convenient.

Anywho...great RR, that is a fun ride up, but I always do it at the end of the day, so I too have never taken the Coldwater trail down (afraif of a solo down at night). If you guys ever get a group to do the whole ITT-CW route, shoot me a PM, I'd love to tag along.

Nice RR and pictures. I plan to do this ride once I'm in good riding shape again.

We thought about Coldwater and I think we saw the trail head for it, but being that none of us had ridden it before, we thought it best not to tackle a trail referred to as "controlled falling" when we were light on water. That's definitely a trail I'd like to hit with someone who knows the way.
If you need a guide to Coldwater, I'll be you're guide.

UHJ was worth the climb, I only wish we could have gone down LHJ as well.

I haven't felt that good climbing in a while. I have changed my diet a bit in the last few weeks and it has really paid off. I was motoring up ITT and really didn't need to stop. It was awesome!

Nice RR and pics guys, BUT like most, I agree, you can do upper HJ with just going up Holy Jim, at least now you'll have both upper and lower to descend.

As soon as the first rains, IT'S ON! ITT to Coldwater. 1 of the training rides I have planned this year is up HJ to Coldwater, then up ITT and back down Lower HJ. Are you game???

When you went down Upper HJ, you went right by it.

It's on Gene! With all the interest, ITT to Coldwater could end up being a big group.

Will rain make Coldwater that much better of a ride? Never been so I am completely ignorant of the conditions.

Ya, that's why I may do HJ to Coldwater to ITT to HJ. That'll thin out that group. But those who choose to do CW, better be prepared to do some HABing.

Yes, I haven't ridden it in absolute perfect conditions yet, but rain will help pack down the section that is a controlled skid. It won't be so loose.
