Default Last Weekend at Keystone, CO wrap up (Part 2)

As the title suggests this is Part 2 RR at Keystone, Colorado. Part 1 is located in the FR / Adrenaline Factory forum. I decided to post in Trail Talk because in the first installment I violated Joe Truth's admonition to keep posts less than 100 words in that forum.

Anyhoo, for those of you that are interested here is my second installment. I will have more Colorado RR's coming in as I get my shite together!

-------Part 2

After I managed to clean Witch Doctor, I dropped down into Money.

Money is similar to A-line at Whistler since it has over 20 tabletop jumps through the trees with huge berms and S shaped turns. I decided on this trip I’m going to spend a lot of time on Money due to the fact that I’m not very good on doubles or tables. And tables are much safer to learn on then doubles. So I managed to get down Money, some jumps perfect, some not so perfect and others down right ugly. As an example of ugly: On the third trip down Money I cleared a table but drifted right and landed on a soft dirt wall. This screw-up managed to turn my bars straight into my sternum. The bars impaled my chest with a WHUMP! Ouch. I sat still for a moment checking things out and declared myself fit to ride with a bit of chest pain and nary a scratch on me. The pain really didn’t set in until the ride home and today, the day after, I’m really in quite a bit of pain. I don’t believe I have a broken rib but I do have a bruised sternum which is painful enough when I cough.

(I'm editing this 7 days after that fall and I'm really hurting still. Can't cough deep and I'm not sleeping really well. I guess I did more damage than I realized.)

I rolled the rest of Money taking care not to fall, and headed into the Paid in Full skinnies through the trees. This is a winding elevated bridge, 8 inches wide through the trees with a 6 foot drop at the end of the ladder, leading into either Wild Thing or EvenFlow. Both are really fun winding descents with rock ledges and drops, bridges and jumps through the trees. Either run is a winner, and can be very challenging.

Denver in view

Met Jake and Travis on the last ride down, good times! (I'm in the middle, dang I look short)

So all in all I had a great time riding with only one bad fall.

I don't think it's an optical illusion, Big Tom. It is what it is.
