RR: Downieville Sun 9/7/2008

Went to Downieville and did a shuttle run today. Rode up to Packer Saddle with Yuba Expeditions. We had a greatride down Sunrise Trail to Butcher Fire Road to Pauley Trail to Second Divide to First Divide into town. It was a great ride. My first time here. I would recommend this ride to anyone headed up this way. I had only one day. I will come back and spend more time. There is a lot to ride (explore) here. Sorry, no pictures, the guys I trailed were going wya to fast for me to stop and get the camera out. It was excellent scenery and riding!!!

It is heresy to post a RR of Downieville with no photos!
There are many of us here who love D-ville, and -speaking for myself- view current threads on D-ville to get a fix, a vicarious thrill until our next trip there!

That is the coolest little towns.
They love mountain biking in that town the people are always nice there.
That place has some of the best riding around. I need to get back up there and ride soon.

while we're on the topic, anyone planning on heading up any time soon? I'm half tempted to drive myself up when I get my bike back and spend 2 days riding up there.

I may blow off the closer at Mammoth and do Downieville instead. I've been itching to do the climb from Sierraville to Packard Pass, so I can go down Sunrise and get another run in on the Second Divide. That was a really awesome trail last time I rode in in July.
