Default Angelous oaks

So I got this wild hair up my ass to to for a hell ride.

Started at Loch Leven, road my ass all the way up to the store on my Dirtbag, OUCH, then took a little break for some water and chow, then headed up the Fireroad, down to 2E03, blazed all that trail, across some more Fireroad to MOrtons peak, and Down Mortons peak road back to the 38. What the hell was I thinking. Fun ride, Wish I had the Camera.

Saw three rattlers, 2 common Diamond backs, and one really big Timber Rattler, nice catch to see along the way, the Timber rattler was on Loch lev climb, where you cross over the water/stream. Up top, as turning into 2E03 there was, for the first time I have seen myself, A decent size Mtn lion, not quite on the trail, bout ten feet or so to the left of the trail, She wasnt kickin back, she was trotting along, I Spooked her pretty good, She jumped, turned and looked at me, bared the teth, let out a bit of a snarl, then took of like a bat out of hell. I also took of like a bat out of hell, Didnt stop till I was all the way across at Death row section.

All in all, good ride

. . .on the way up, that is. I do the same ride but start at the A & W restaurant. This extra mileage at the start will allow you hit up the riverbed on the way down. There is some twisty singletrack with several jumps in the river bottom. Good times.

Did you do this as a solo ride? If you did, you are hardcore ........I do alot of solo rides including SART between Angeles Oaks and Southfork -but when I ride this section of 2E03 I always try to bring a buddy.

For some reason there are a lot fewer riders on this section of trail compared to Angelus Oaks-to-Southfork....and you saw a mountain lion???

Yeah, For some dumbass reason, I went solo. And Yeah, saw the Mountain Lion right there at 2E03 right off the fireroad before THG. It was pretty cool actually.

Just to clarify, I dont normally ever ride MTN solo. If anything, maybe Huldacrooks.

A Really Big Timber Rattler above Yucaipa?
Where's our resident Herp expert Rockinthecasbah when you need him?
