Default SART trail pics 5/6

Last Saturday I joined the boys at Geoladders to ride the Santa Ana River Trail. 25 guys showed up and the pace went very smoothly for such a large group. Only a few flats no major crashes. For those that have not ridden SART its a shuttle ride with 24 miles of pure awesomeness singletrack. Nothing to technical or steep but just pure fun!
the route: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=151

heres are pictures courtesy of Keith Bowen (hope you dont mind)

Thanks for the RR:

I have never shuttled that trail and I have never done the section from Thomas Huntings Grounds down the hill. It is my all time favorite Single Speed Trail. I normaly do the Post Office until I get tried and turn around section. Or park at the bottom by the bridge at the Santa Ana River and go to the South Fork and back.

It is a good time to ride out there soon the bugs will be a real problem. Anyone that wants to do a slow paced ride out there let me know.

Get it while it's green. It's so freekin beautiful there when it's all green. I rode it 4 times last year and I still would have rode it more, if I could have. I rode it once on my ss, and I'm a weakling so I didn't care for it much, but there really isn't much you would need suspension for. Maybe just comfort. I ended up riding 143 on the road Saturday, but I would have rather have rode this one.

i have only done that ride as an out and back ride...about 30 miles...i did it before i got my computer to give me mileage...just park by the post office, ride up to the campground and then back...the climb isn't bad at all and its a fun ride and saves you gas

Nice photos! Makes me want to ride it this weekend, but I'm signed up for the Toad Fest. Geoladders has directions to where the trail starts, but where do I stash my car at the end of the ride?

Thanks!

Let's go the sooner the better...someone set a day/time and we will do it. No shuttle...to complicated.

It is the breathing in of bugs that gets me. The small bugs don't bite so they can hitch a ride all they want. Sometimes there are deer flys out there and they do bite.

hey isnt it easier to park on the Post office parking lot then shuttle down to the bottom of the fire road? that way we dont climb back up after done and skip on the bugs all together?

call the ride!! maybe this weekend?
