This was a fun ride cuz its different then any trails in our area. But if I were to make the drive I would rather go back to the Mt. Lowe/Strawberry Peak area. Those trails are faster and more challenging.

Not this weekend, ShinKen, you need to join Jon & me on the Potato Mountain ride. Then we got the Renaissance Faire to hit up that afternoon!!

Let's try for May 27th or 28th to do SART, since i got the Long Beach ride on the 20th & the Anti-Gravity ride on the 21st.

The climb back up Middle Control Road is not that bad and I like to get it out of the way first, so I normally park at the bottom. It seems like a long haul but it is not steep...as I recall it is a 800ft climb over 2+ miles.

I agree with Matt K., the San Gabriels are better and we need to do Chillao/Mt. Hillyer, besides I will be lookin for some sweet drops to check out the refurbished 5-Spot...Chillao is the spot.

Spot due back this Thursday. Pretty much a new build. Fox DHX 5 Coil shock. Marzocchi Z1 Light Fork, Hopey Steering Damper, stem, Azonic Stealth handle bars, DT Swiss 440 20mm hub laced to a Mavic 721 CD and lastly a AJ's frame protector...tired of my chain dropping of the granny.

Matt name the day and we will go.

If you're interested we have a ride going from Chilao to Monrovia this weekend. About 38 miles and 4800 feet of climbing but you get 8000 of descent. And of course it'll be a shuttle being the long distance.

Nope we are doing on Saturday the 13th. There will be bail out options and we have a few guys who are only doing a portion of the ride. The meeting place will be at the Chantry Gate (Santa Anita at the end of the street) at 7 am. Let me know if you're coming.
