So what's the deal. Do I need to know a secret handshake or something to get in on the riding.

AlphaMog I think I saw all you guys standing behind a white pickup around 11 Saturday? Was just passing through at the time heading to ride elsewhere.
Your shots were great, Nancy !

RIP Dragon's spine (oh hell no I never went off it but was a blast to watch while it existed !!)
If you guys have permission to ride on this "private land" then why were the stunts torn down?

Maybe someone else has more info but I think it had to do with the kid his first time there crashed badly coming down was unconscious, airlifted out and in a coma for 2 weeks. He's ok now but has no desire to go back anytime soon I heard from his friend. We were there later that day but it was a big deal with all the police/fire trying to find his location to get him help I believe it was a full hour till he was taken out from the time of his crash. Shortly after the wooden structures came down.
I'm guessing the owner was fearful of liability but is nice enough to turn a blind eye possibly now so I hope it doesn't get too popular.

Not sure why they were taken down. they were not taken down by the owner, but all i know is we were left with all the ladders chopped in pieces lying there, we had holes and rocks in the landing to our big jumps and small jumps, and it was not a pleasant sight. I honestly hve no idea who would take away from our sport

How do you know it wasn't the owner?? Did you speak to him? Maybe he just didn't want any backlash over having them removed from us.

I did not speak to him, but i caught the people tearing down the ladders on the left trail, and spoke to him, and said he was not the one tearing down everyhting else, although i still think it was him.
I noticed he cut the ladders into pieces with a small power saw, the same exact way the other were cut and left, although for the small ladder he was carrying them out on his horses, complaining to me that he did not want to have to take time from his weekend to tear down our nonsense
It may be him, and he also rides his horse at marshall canyon and CWP.
Not dropping any possibilities, but it might be him, if not i have not a clue

If you guys have permission then I think it sucks that somebody destroyed your work.

Typically stuff is torn down or bulldozed when it is illegal or done without permission. I think it is because landowners/managers don't want to be sued by injured riders or their parents!

I was told that the owner (a female) asked the horsemen to remove the wood stunts. That's all I know. there are still 3 left intact, 1 on the right trail and 2 at the bottom in the playground.

We have permission "to ride" there, not to build stunts!!!! Big difference. Every stunt that had wood attached to it (drops, jumps, ladders, etc.) had the wood removed, but the dirt portion of the items was left intact.

We are very fortunate to be allowed to ride here. However the trash situation has become intolerable. The next time any of you are there, please help by taking a trash bag and taking some out with you. Between all of us, it should be easy enough to do. It's starting to look like a public dump!!!

Not only parents and children can sue someone for their property but a friend of mine recently told me he broke his neck at Calavera off the 78, he luckily isn't paralyzed but when the insurance company asked if he wanted to sue the trails he said no....They said tough luck we are anyways, he says he wanted to write a letter to the insurance company saying not to sue it was his own fault because of course he would have felt horrible if the trials closed cuz of him. Anyway he isn't sure what the insurance company did actually do and he never did write that letter, but just goes to show you a lot of bad shit can bring a trail down.

Love your trails non the less and not trying to be a downer just letting you know cuz I just found that out this weekend. Peace

the pics are sick! thanks nancy and everyone that rode. cant wait to go again. btw when someone consiously participates in activities that are known to hurt, paralize, or worst kill should not have the right to sue anyone over it. then again thats just my thoughts.
