RR: Path Ride - "Mini" Bikes & Beer's

So, after talking with Mr. Walling a bit, I've "volunteered" to start leading the Sunday shop rides.

So today, a few of us kicked it off with a mini Bikes and Beer's ride.
Intsed of riding the road over to Peters Canyon, we took the "horse trails" (aka the Tustin Loop) off of Newport.
It was the first time on this little piece of dirt for a couple of the guy's, and they agreed that it's much more fun than riding the road over.
We ended up riding up the middle of Peter's, and with the exception of one older couple, all of the hikers were friendly.
From there we hit Blair Witch to get to Oaks. I hadn't ridden it in quite a while, and man, it was a blast!
Once into Oaks some of the guy's started to feel the affects of "not enough riding, too much riding, too much beer, too freak'n HOT" you name it, and that excuse was used. So, to cut our ride short, all of us but two, pedaled-hike-a-biked UP Goat!

That was freak'n rough!

Once at the top, the call was made to ride back down, and get to the Tustin Brewery ASAP!

I had taken a couple of pictures of the guy's comming up, at one of the berms, so I went back down and took some shots of them hitting it going in the RIGHT direction!

From there we made our way back down Newport, and to the Brewery.
Much food and drink was had, with Kelly showing up ready to take Mondo for a ROAD ride!

It was a GREAT time for sure!

I've got one more race at Rim Nordic next Sunday, then you can pretty much count on seeing me Sunday mornings at The Path at 8:15 ready to ride!
