Default Santa Rosa Plateau 4/27

I did a nice 17 mile spin at Santa Rosa Plateau today. It was the perfect remedy for my sore legs. All I've been doing is climbing, or pushing real hard, and my legs haven't really been able to recuperate.

Anyway, it's a beautiful place to ride. Nice rolling singletrack, with practically zero climbing. Nothing technical at all. It's perfect for a quick spin when you just want to unwind. The grass/weeds are sure tall because of all this rain, and the PO is growing like mad too.

I would have taken a lot of pics in the wooded singletrack areas, but I keep thinking there's a lion around every corner.

Never been there. How about some directions?

Sometimes I am looking for a ride that does not entail a bunch of effort.

Gonz, don't breathe too deeply when viewing the pix.

Looks like a fun ride. I understand you not wanting to stop to take pix in the wooded areas...sometimes its too hard to stop and interupt the flow of the s/t to take pix.

Santa Rosa Plateau geoladders route

I rode practically every single side singltrack, and main trail there on Thursday. There was only one side track where I had to get off my bike and walk around a PO branch. It was a tight squeeze to walk around, but it was better than riding right through it.

I rode that several years ago and after cruising through the flat park, we went about a mile away by road into the hills and did some serious & challenging stuff. It was very desert-like as opposed to the Plateau which is fairly green due to natural springs. Not sure of the exact location and route, though.

Do you recall which direction you went to get there? It sounds like a good place to ride.

Roy if you're going over there again, let me know. I haven't been there in a while. Last time there a park ranger asked us to leave because of a possible mountain lion sighting. He didn't have to ask twice.
