Steve-- That was intense! I hope you're not hurting too much. That fall looked nasty, especially with you seeing "halos"!! Seek medical advice if ------you still don't have full range of motion.

Also found was a 12-pack of Pacifico beer @ the BBQ. This one you can't claim. It was gone shortly after being discovered.

The jersey is indeed mine. Sent you a pm. Thanks

Talking

I had been looking forward to this event since the first day it was posted. Last minute Gabe got the call to work. Since my car is getting old I was afraid I would end up missing it. Turns out Jason (RacinJacon) got a last minute call to Downieville so that left me and Willie as single girls for the weekend! Then as luck would have it Pamela said she was rooming with Gaylynn and bam...girl's condo! Didn't get much sleep but it didn't matter...we were on vacation!
We woke up bright and early not by the alarm but by crazy drunk guy. Nothing says Good Morning like a drunk!
Our first run we decided to explore the mountain and join the Newbie ride. That ended up being a long cross country with some fun long singletrak..boy did we have to earn it. After making it back to town we headed directly back to the lift for one more...we hit Pirates to Fall line and that was a complete blast. Then we hit the BBQ. Had fun socializing and keeping warm with Traci's baby pug. I started to develop a headache and ended up staying back while Willie headed back with the Last Run Crew. I'm bummed I missed it but kind of glad I stayed dry.

Thanks to GREG (GHixon) for making us earn our singletrak. I learned a new trail and that's what it's all about. Big Thumbs Up to TARA & LORABEE for making it thru the long ride, you guys did awesome your first time out at BB.
A big thanks to WILLIE for being my carpool buddy. It was a lot of fun and look forward to doing it again some day. Thanks to PAMELA for getting us girls together. I wished I had been able to ride with you at some point. Thanks to all who shared their food! The salad I brought got water logged in my cooler and ruined. I don't think it was missed the spread was so big. I was so well feed I didn't even feel hungry at dinner. Thanks to NATALIE and TONY for riding with us all morning and Tony for the fleece to keep warm. Thanks to JoeTruth who had more fleece for me to keep warm after Natalie and Tony left. Even tho I was full I couldn't help but taste the Touble salad and hummus. That was so refreshing and good. And it can't said enough...THANKS NEIL AND TRACI for the organization and good times.

Ouch ... that video makes me cringe. Hope he's feeling a little better today. With as fast as some of those trails got, I should have worn my fullface. The vid reminds me that things usually happen so fast you can't do a thing about it.

Had a blast this Saturday. Myself, my Dad (Daish/George), Jay and Happy_Gilmore where the very riders up the lift. The rain started while where on the way down. To add to it Happy had a mechanical half way though pirates and rode the rest of the way down with no rear brake! He had to literally unbolt his brake caliper and zip tie it to his seatstay. Then the rain really started. As stated above, it was insane. It's going to be a long time before I forget being that dirty and soaked. Happy, I still don't know how you made it all the way alive.

Ohyeah89 and Stinkyrider joined us afterwards at Big Bear Mountain Brewery. Mmmmm... beer.

So that was you guys asking for a caliper bolt on the way down. I was the smart ass that said "brakes are overrated anyway". Glad Happy made it down OK with just a front brake. Besides we where almost to the bottom when I was asked for the bolt.

Thanks for the concern. I had to watch that vid over and over. It happened so fast. I guess I immediately sat up and then my body said "not so fast" and I slumped over. The wind was knocked out of me and I just had to lay there for awhile. I didn't hear any sounds of bones breaking and was able to lift my arms while hopped up under adrenaline. Fortunately I was able to ride down since I was still able to push and pull with my arm, just no side movement.
I'm feeling a bit better today. I'm able to lift my arm a bit higher before the pain hits. As Justin suspected, it appears to be a mild shoulder separation perhaps type II, since there is a small bump above where the ligament attaches to the clavicle. I'll find out for sure when I schedule an appointment with my doctor to authorize an x-ray. I can move my arm around without pain using my left hand, but I can't lift the arm very high or reach out using its own muscles.

Just wanted to thank a few other people that helped make this weekend memorable.

Hugh, thank you for all you help with my son. Since he didn't swear off mt biking forever I take that as a good sign. I only have a few pix of my son....since I was too nervous when we were actually riding to take any. I don't know how many times I told him to slow down...I guess when it's your own kid it's totally a different game. And also many thanks for helping us load up all the gear.

Thank you Dell, Dean, Craig and Mike for being such great co-camper. Dell, my son had a blast with you...and you're great sense of humor. He also liked that young looking, gray haired, reasonably fit, beer bellied alter ego of yours. Mike it was nice finally meeting you, and always remember no matter what....stay hydrated! Dean it is always good to hang with you, especially since it's been way too long. Let me know when your ready to do some more exploring in them there mountain, because I will be up for it. Craig, thanks for providing the morning grub...I never get tired of making breakfast while camping, it seem to taste even that much better.

Here are a few more photos:

SAY CHEEEEESE: It was good seeing the Mann's again. Hey Craig is that Justin or Jason??

Keep it iced and in a sling. If you have access to a pool use it to keep your range of motion. Don't try any sort of exercising until you see the Doctor.

Smile Thank You!!!

To everyone who made it up!
You are the reason this BBQ was a success!!!

For Neil and I this weekend started Friday night at the Brewery Dean had suggested as our meeting place..We got there at 8:30 to find some very happy people, We quickly tried to catch up and were pretty successful at doing so.The group got bigger by the minute and at 10pm our housemates for the night (Andy & Candice) finally found us, just in time to be told *it's closin time*
So off to CC's camp we went - Let's just say that I finally put my head to the pillow at 1:15 in the morning.

Sat BBQ day -
Up early dropped Neil, Andy & Candice at Summit to meet anyone who may not have read that they needed to get their ticket at the park. I think we were 1st in the lot 2nd in were the Manns (it was so nice to see you both!).

I made it to the park to find a few people already there waiting for their magic ticket...It was sure nice to see old pals and meet new ones too, 1 by 1 they came and went. The introductions were a blast! Everyone was so polite and gracious for a *cheap* day on the hill. It was my pleasure to pass you all a ticket!

The rush lasted about an hour and finally they were gone. I found myself surrounded by the wives, signifigant others, friends and kids who made the trek up but weren't riding. Nice to spend the day with you Christina (yep that's right all 3 ladies that stayed back with me were named Christina - lol).

Neil rolled in 1st to relive me - but I could see it on his face....He still wanted to ride (we thought at some point my family would be bringing Maddie to us at the park - so we were going to take turns). I decided to make a quick trip up the lifts to:

1. Personally thank Bear Mtn Resorts, for the opportunity to give us a fun filled day of riding
2. Find David B. - he had my Brats - lol
3. Let people know the grills were gonna get started.

While talking to Shannon (in the ticket booth) he decided to count how many STR discounts they had given for the day so far - At 11:30 am STR had 61 people sign waivers and take a lift up Let's just say he was pretty happy!

Lunch came and went - It put a smile to my face every time someone would roll up, dirty faced and smiling ear to ear.

Lunch for many lasted a bit longer than expected - Neil Art & Chris had snuck off to get back out, just to call and say they had shut down the lifts due to lightning danger. Once the lifts opened up the park was empty and us gals started to pick up, only to feel BIG drops starting to fall on us. We picked up most everything and were ki
