Blackstar
Well that makes 4 Blackstar rides in 7 days. I am beat! Thank you everyone for all the cheers when I made it up to Beeks, it was quite surprising. Sorry to say... that wasn’t my first time up to Beeks and I don’t know where everyone got the idea but THANKS!!!!
  I am sooo lucky to have met so many nice, fun, kind people. It seemed like everyone had a smile painted on their face tonight. Some of the people that showed up are not STR members, they told me they had a blast and can’t wait to do it again. I received many phone calls and PM's when I got home from riders saying how much you enjoyed meeting new people to ride with. I defiantly enjoyed meeting each of you. I would try to take off before anyone else from our stops, so I got to say hello to everyone as I got passed  I think we started out with 11 of us (Jordi, John, Mike, Joel, Mark, Mark, Beth, Lety, abuck55, Rich, Jeff), then joined by Mr. and Mrs. Epic, later joined by Ken, Jesse and Rockthecasbah. As we descended we ran into the machine from the Path. On his 5th lap up ~ while we all climbed it once - I did end up beating my time for those of you that asked. I beat it by 1 minute and that is with the 1st Flat stop. Thanks for the encouragement Mark.  Glad everyone had fun. I didn’t get a chance to take many photos but here are a few to look at... No More BStar for me for awhile. I'll be hitting sierra from coal or skyline for the 4th. My next BStar ride is going to be a late 8-9 pm start maybe a full moon ride??

Fun times. I'd like to thank Ken (Freakngo) for letting me borrow his bike. S-Works Enduro
 And Ricky for trying to wrangle every dang reptile he saw on the trail. I think he started to lose his marbles when he stood next to the rattler. WTF!

Thanks for setting the ride up, Pam. This was my first ride up Blackstar.......enjoyed the climb up, despite the heat early on! It was great meeting many new faces (many I can now match up with their handles). Hopefully, I can get my ass out of work early again and join another one of these!
By the way, Pam, you forgot to mention Rich (a fellow proud Mach 5 owner) who also joined us for the ride! I am quite impressed that you remembered just about all the names, though!!!!!!! |

Good times last night except for my blow out and 2nd flat. In 6 years of riding that has never happened, I was definately humbled there. Pam, you beat your time and waited for me while we changed my flats! It was a bit hot at first but once we got to the top the views and breeze were spectacular! Thanks for getting us out there!

Thanks everyone for a great mid-week ride. Did anyone else notice it was 90 degrees at 5pm? Hot ride up but it did cool down as we cleared the switchbacks. I moved around in the pack and rode/talked with everyone and it sure was a good distraction from heat and the climb to the top. Very buggy, think I swallowed a few.
What a healthy rattlesnake we saw on the way out! He was a beauty and I'm happy to report Pam wouldn't let Ricky pick him up. Ricky showed me teeth marks from a fresh gopher snake bite he received on the way up. The guy just likes to pick up snakes!!!

wouldn't let me ???? lol I told everyone it was a no go on the venomous without a hook or something similar i may be dumb ut not stupid By the way I think I told you guys it was a female when we were looking at it, I wasn't paying attention or something that thing is more then likely a big male it has more then 4 white bands on its tail

not for snakes just trees and Elisheva, usally females have shorter tails, males have longer (because the tail holds the goods)
