SingleTrack Angel, great Job! The great thing about Cholla is that once you've finished it, there are a bunch of other great lines and tricks you can try. Example, now that you (most likely) used the 34 in the granny, try dropping down one in the back to the 32 and muscle it out a bit more. I found it made me a stronger climber. Or just doing the chute section in the 32 is cool if you have the legs left when you get there. I've also done the single speed thing in the middle ring and locked out the front and just powered up out of the saddle. Also, start trying the tougher lines....like pushing into the rocks and not taking the higher sides. The up and around that rock/boulder section is a good one, there's a middle line (which takes a bit more stamina) and then the far, left line in which you have to get up that big rock and that is a fun challenge.

I must have done Cholla at least 100 times but always find myself taking different lines to challenge myself. I think that's why it's my favorite, you can try new techniques without risking much because the trail is wider than most.

Next, you gotta try Rock-it! I've only made it once on the weak line but I made it once!

Once, again, great job. I still have a few friends who can't make it so don't listen to that one guy. It's an accomplishment and personally, kind of a "right-of-passage" type deal at Aliso Woods.

Thanks for the great advice - I've seen some guys take the middle line up the rocky section, and it looks easy when they do it, so I'll have to give it a try next!
