Rode Marshall Cyn solo this morning and what a blast. Last time I rode this area was during the huge newbie ride a few months back so I decided it was time; plus I had to be home by 12 for a family event...
For a change, I decided to ride from my house in Glendora to Oak Mesa school and enter the trail from there (8.5 miles according to mapquest). Left at 7:05 and made it to the school's parking lot at 7:35 at a comfortable pace via Route 66 and Baseline. Temps were in the low 70's, my kind of weather for riding. Not a whole lot of people at the lot but did encounter a few riders coming back down and your usual herds of XC runners... Two of which passed me on the fire road climb before the second water tower as you head out to the second gate...jerks how dare they.A few shots from the beginning of the ride along the creek ![]() ![]() Sun coming through the canopy ![]() A small extra credit that turns to the right of the trail and ends back at the stream. ![]() View of the Fire road after the water tower by the first gate ![]() A little more climbing on ST and fire road and eventually you get to the first ST that takes you back down the cyn. This makes it a shorter ride so I continued on. ![]() Getting ready to hit the rolling fire road that leads to the switch backs. Very lose sections that could make you pay dearly if you don't watch your speed ![]() A few riders getting ready to hit the switchbacks. ![]() On the way back nearing the equestrian center. ![]() This is the end of the small extra credit section I mentioned above. I like to hit it both on the way in and as I'm heading out instead of riding the creek's bed... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() eventually it turns into a small st and meets the main trail at the bottom. ![]() End of the dirt ![]() On Route 66 ![]() home sweet home ![]() I think I have time for another run ![]() Just what the doctor ordered ![]()

Damn Vic, I could of made a short ride. I got stuck at home doing home stuff. My wife said something like "you'll be riding every day for the next couple of weeks or more, you can surely give up one weekend day", Baloney!

So that's what the place looks like during the day.
A group of us ride there on Thursday nights, and we meet at Coates in Pomona around 6:30. If anyone is interested they are more than welcome to join. Cool pics, btw.

I was there this morning as well, started with 2 others at 8:10am. Temperature was perfect. I noticed some of the stream beds have begun to dry up as well down near the bottom. This place is so great during the hot season since there is so much tree coverage. See you there next time!

Nice pics, when I see pics of Marshall, it always reminds me how fortunate I am to have this in my backyard. I think my extra credit would have included a stop at Donut Man in Glendora!

Ahhh yep it's etched in my memory.
I also remember my first time ever all the way up Marshall Cyn. If my memory serves me right I was following you up. You were being a typical mt biker and you just keep saying...you can do it, there's just another corner, it's not that much further. Thanks for the encouragement!! ![]()
