Fathers Day on the Oregon Trail
Im always looking for new dirt to ride, and visit new places- so I decided to take a road trip to Canada a few weeks back, and make a few stops along the way. First stop, was Eugene, Oregon- my father and brother live there, and since it was Fathers Day, I thought I would show up and surprise my DAD. I waited patiently for his car to come down the road- then I dropped the short but steep drop into my brothers yard and swooped around the back to meet him in the driveway- he started scolding "the kid" about doing crazy stuff on bikes, and riding in other peoples yards before he even realized it was me- I rode right up to his face, gave him a big hug and wished him a Happy Fathers Day! It was priceless!
My brother lives on a fire road type thing- and it goes on for about 15 miles- the trees are so tall - you cant even see the tops- the temps were in the low 70's , it made for some perfect riding! I got my dad on a bike for the first time in about 20 years, and he now swears he is going to get himself a bike- My brother caught these in his creek DSC05224.jpg And wonders if we will eat them! I've only been to Oregon once but I really loved it there...awesome story about your Dad! I wanted to do the same thing for my Mom (she lives in Mass) but the timing wasn't right. Bravo!
