Default Signs of Summer: Taco Tuesday

The cooler temps brought much relief to the evening ride tonight. The summer solstice passed and the days will be getting shorter. The band of bikers gathered for another cruise through the canyon.

The first sign of summer was at the entrance. At the commencement of the Tuesday Tradition sunset was at 6:15, now it is a very sunny 8:00.

The other signs were less obvious, ear to ear grins, front wheelies and warm sunset to complete another rotation of the earth.

The final regroup at the Fish House included Amanda and Trizz, with Trizz mother in law, who does not ride but loves the tacos scene.

Keep trying to make this ride, keep failing miserably. Are you still starting at 5:30p, or has DST pushed it back?

Default And on a slightly darker note....

Bailey and I got a late start. Figured we'd just come around the lake and meet you guys at the base of big-red on your way out.

She charged the hill down towards the hill before the singletrack drop. I told her to "go as slow as she wanted", but I didn't tell her how slow to go (I must be
the worst dad ever). She was booking along and I'm thinking "good thing she's on an FS bike, because it was pretty bumpy. She was back on the seat in a good attack position. everything looked OK, until she got the speed-wobbles. I watched her go down on her left, and her bike flipped over and hit her. Nothing broken, just a tacoed front wheel, and some scrapes and bruises.

Some of the neighbors to the south of the park (Greg and Ann) came out to help get her cleaned up and walked through their house to the street (I drove around to get her).

Here's the aftermath....

Well, she's a real Mtnbiker now...

Default Ohhh Noooo!!

I'm sorry . That hill can be tough. She is tough. It might take a while for her get used to the new bike.
Bring that front wheel over and i will true it.
Its one of those hills that if you build up speed there is no stopping. Its not anyone's fault.
For me I find it best to forget about the brakes. They only seem to cause me to lose traction.

I hope she keeps up the enthusiasm about biking as we all know it takes time.
