OK, I've been reading (and laughing) through this thread, and I'm getting ready to derail it a bit........

Shannon, just mentioning cool weather really makes me want to take a little road trip to see you and Big "B"!
Is it do-able over a weekend?
Say, if I left after work on a Saturday morning at like 6am, would it still give us time to get a Saturday ride in?
How long of a drive is it?

You've really got some ideas bouncing around in my head!

Default Kelly drenched!!

I know this what you've all been waiting for but first I had such a good time just hangin and drinkin with a fun group of people. I've ridden with a few and recognize the others from various rides and gatherings and it seemed like the laughs were non stop Sunday, especially with Pat pedaling down the path with Mondo on his handlebars and bike in hand.

Nice change of pace when you don't have to worry about gearing up or getting you heart rate up during a ride.

Brett, Lee, Adam and Ko

Mondo, Kelly showing some tongue(oh my), and Pat pre-sunburn

Lots of people had the same idea we did

First stop, Beach Ball. After riding SART the day before and drinking a Tecate out of Mondo's van, then downing a beer with a shot plus the warm weather, I was starting to get a buzz pretty quick.

Regroup in Newport. Looks like Pat is already turning a little pinkish

Mondo's ass was starting to hurt after his handlebar ride(huh?) so he decided to push his bike instead

Time to repair Mondo's tire and a "ride" by Kelly. Unfortunately I missed the spectacle since I was outside at the time and only heard a bunch of hooting going on.

Stop #2. Modelo, quesadillas and nacho time!

Finally made it to the Wedge. Mondo prepared for the sun by wearing a black t-shirt

Pat going for a dip

Pat getting pulled out 10 seconds later by the Lifeguard because he didn't have fins and the Lifeguard going to rescue Kelly from a 1 foot monster set.

As promised, Kelly soaking wet. Maybe not what you all were expecting?

Awesome time, great weather, I'm ready for more!

The lifeguard said we needed fins but I'm sure I would have been fine with these.

Eh, if you haul ass it's only about 4, 3.5 if you're really pushing it with no traffic. Santa Cruz is a bit further, but there's plenty of fun beautiful trails within riding distance of our house. And literally, we never lock our doors, let alone close them so c'mon up...
