On most Fridays we have what is called the "Friday Fun Ride"- all levels are welcome, and we are led by or fearless leader Jacke. This ride was highlighted by Jacke's birthday, so it was off to a great start. Jacke raffled off a pink helmet in the parking lot, which was won by Sandi, and we all were so happy for her (see photo)-
After cruising Wood Canyon trail- we stopped at the bottom of Cholla, where Yeeha Nancy decides its a perfect time and place for a nap! Then, we climbed Cholla- I was sweeping, therefore last one up, and the girls decided to have some fun with a rubber snake. A guy riding alone nearly had a heart attack as he passed the mean, coiled up rattler right on the trail- but as fate would have it- I pretty much ran it over without even noticing it! Other mtn bikers at the top of Cholla were having a great time witnessing out shenanigans.
We climbed the West Ridge to Meadows, hitting all the extra credits along the trail. Coming down Meadows is always such pleasure, and today was no exception.
Now, off to Rubios for some grub. Yeeha and Jacke went into the ladies room, despite the OUT OF ORDER sign posted on the door. The problem, you see, was that ther was NO DOORKNOB on the inside. They yelled and screamed, as the lady at the counter called their names to come get their food many times. After about 10 mins locked inside, they were rescued. We then realized while taking the photo re-enactment that they could have simply pulled on the coat/purse hook on the door and they would have been immediatley set free!
Jacke got some extra birthday decorations for her bike, as did Karen P. Now, on to the photos!

Great rr, laughed pretty good.

Wife says she definately will not be biking with me anytime soon as almost all mtb'ers are insane, even the ladies!
