Thnx Sherry and the rest of Switchback for your help. Deidre fell pretty good (for her) and was helped back to the park to wait for me. Some scratches from the pedal on her leg and a sore hip. She wanted xrays and they came out clear!!! She'll get back to the dirt sometime...I hope Even with a fall, she came back smiling (or laughing). As concerned about the heat as she was, it was the little logs that did her in I'll take her back to the scene of the crime to redeem herself soon.

Thanks to Mary and Dan for leading the beginners group. For a group with little or no experience in the trail, I could see how much more confidence each rider had by the end of the ride. It was very cool to see.
Thanks to Switchback for sponsoring this clinic and supporting this group of new riders. My daughter is already asking when the next clinic is.
Congrats to all the young riders who had to deal with the heat too, especially MacKenzie.

Glad to hear Deidre is doing OK. Now go get her a fresh ice pack.

Really glad to hear that Deidre is ok, I was there and she did fall pretty hard. I took her back to the meeting place and she seemed to be in high spirits and I do hope she's out on the trail soon

Thanks Sherrie and Tim for organizing this Clinic today. Suzanne thanks so much for your great instruction. Been riding over a 1 year, been riding Peters for this long and today is the first time I ride down the singletrack. Finally! Now it seems so easy can't wait to go back. Treve thanks for all the useful tips on climbing Scout Trail and riding it down. Your instruction was very useful and greatly appreciated. Thanks for a great ride.

It was great to see Dusty, and the TA's out there. Christine and Jennifer yes on the girls ride. Tara and Sharebear kudos to you Sunday Loop Riders on attempting the 3 B's on this very hot day. Vicky on a not so hot day I may be crazy enough to follow you.

Thanks Sherry and thanks to all the members in my group! (Beginner-Intermediate) It was fun, and even though it was scorching hot, it was a great day to spend the morning.

I hope this isn't the last time we all meet.

Oh, thanks Rich too!

You are very welcome! It was my pleasure to ride and be part of such a wonderful group. I truly hope that everyone that attended took away with them a new skill or two and also a sense of accomplishment. You all were great sports despite the heat

Also, from an instructors point of view, we all were so pleased with the turnout to this even and the enthusiasm everyone had. It was amazing to see how helpful and encouraging all you ladies were to each other and how quickly feelings of doubt in your abilities were removed only to be filled with determination and perseverance. You all rock

Thanks to everyone for organizing today's ride. Unfortunately I wasn't able to participate from start to finish because I decided to hug a cactus. Thanks to all the wonderful ladies that helped pluck cacti needles from my arse. I know there are a few pictures out there and if someone wouldn't mind sending me those I'd appreciate it ... I've got to show the friends or they'll never believe me

Major thanks from me, too. My wife was in the ultra-beginner group and had a great time. She actually wants to do the trail again! It sounded like the instructors were very patient and did a great job of showing the group basic beginner skills, such as rolling over tree branches.

Thanks to the Switchback Family for this event. Special thanks to Tim, Jason, Debbie and Vickie for leading and sweeping the intermediate + group.
I had a great time, in spite of nearly passing out from the heat! We had a close encounter with a cactus- and pulled out spines the size of sewing needles from MiniMountaineer- OUCH- and a spectacular OTB on Chutes from Sharebear- her attitude after such a hard fall was amazing! And one girl who needed some shade and some food, who was overcome by the heat.
I have only done this ride once, on St Pats, and cant wait to come back and try it again when the temps settle down a bit! All the girls seemed to have fun, and I know I learned a lot from the patient instructors. Props to Danielle, who at 11, shows great skills and bravery- imagine her at 15! And to Kristine for not only cleaning chutes once perfectly, but climbing back up to clean it again!
