Awesome...good job to all of you ladies and coaches for braving the heat. It was a scorcher yesterday! Keep practicing...you've gotta ride at least a couple times a week to really grow those skills. Hope to see you on the trails!

It was a half day of excellent mtn biking instruction from our coaches despite the heat. We stayed up on chutes and worked that section for a long time. Hopefully next time I will have more mojo to conquer the obvious. The sun/heat got to most of us but we all managed ok despite carnage, heatstroke and cactus encounters.

Thank you to all the volunteers for giving up their time on Saturday to give to us!

Let's do it again, maybe Fall?

I hope the girls realize that Chutes is one of the more "extreme" trails in the local area...I know a lot of guys that either won't ride down it or go very, very slowly.

Regardless, it's a pretty technical trail due to all of the loose terrain (sand and rocks) coupled with the downhill grade and the switchbacks.

You girls get big kudos for riding Chutes! All the other trails in the area are "training wheels" so hopefully that's boosted the confidence of some of the riders!

That's definitely my favorite pic!

I have to say one of the most memorable times out on an STR ride took place during Bikes and Beers, when Dan (Project D) helped spot his son Zach through that very same section of the chute. I was waiting a little ways down the trail, but was so excited when he cleaned it!

Thanks for the great RR's, and major props to you all for suffering through the heat yesterday!

Thanks for the RR and pics but (ok here comes the photographer in me) the front of your lens needs to be cleaned Brenda. Looks like you had a soft focus/fog filter going for the ladies.

Default Thanks to everyone

I personally want to thank all you girls that showed up even though you knew it was going to be a tough day and that the heat would be horrible.

It's obvious to me that there are lots of women out there that want to get better on their bikes and really enjoy the sport of Mnt. Biking....we tried to push everyone a bit to show them that they are better then then give themselves credit for and give them as much information as possible to take with them.

Thanks to Irvine Park for allowing us to congregate and enjoy their shady trees!

We will do another clinic in the future...once the summer heat leaves. But for those of you that are interested in more learning sooner feel free to give me a call and come on out to the Sunday morning 7am ride that meets at Jamboree and Chapman and I will gladly work on your skills with you...we are not holding the ride on Sunday June 29th...but after that the rest of the sundays should be a go...so give me a call at Switchback or pm and let me know if you want to come out and we can focus on the skills!

See you all on the trail!

Thanks for putting on the clinic! I had been looking forward to it for weeks and glad I went. I got to ride a trail I had never done before (and never even CONSIDERED doing), up the 3 B's and down chutes. It was quite an eventful ride and pretty proud that I attempted it (and ok with the fact that I walked some of the downhill). I can't wait to do it again when it cools down! Thanks to Switchback for taking the time and energy to put on such an event!

Thanks for inviting Kitty to go with you. She had a fun time with the beginners and that is what she needed. I had fun getting lost with P around the water reserve..
