Only my second STR ride and it was a blast. The group was very fun and I got to finally put some faces to some of the folks. I am looking forward to the next one.

Nice ride, gang. I bet the temps (even in the shade) wasn't too cool but it is what it is. SART's a nice pretty ride.

Who the heck is this freak of nature with arms coming out of his ribs to the bottom right of the below photo? Talk about low center of gravity with knuckles dragging!

I concur. We're all so lucky to have such a great variety of terrain in the LA metro area. SART was definitely a treat! Thanks, again Gregg for setting this up!

By the way, I forgot to mention what a trooper Jesse (Integradriver) was yesterday. The man somersaulted off his bike, had the bike land on him, and continued on with the ride as if nothing had happen. I thought this Trail Jesus thing was just some sort of evangelical scam.........damn, was I wrong! Somebody else mentioned how they wanted to become one of his disciples.....sign me up as well!

That was not a light crash either! Fortunately he was able to get right up and continue the ride. It was pretty spectacular to see it all happen actually - I'm pretty sure there was a full kartwheel/flip involved and not just over the bars.

It was good meeting everyone, great photos and ride reports too.

I had a great time yesterday...I just love the SART trail no matter how we do it. I have done SART many times, but the way we started was a first for me. No matter we began with a little adventure but made it to the trail head. Is was also great to avoid the super high temps below.

Thanks for the good times everyone, it was great meeting new people and seeing old friends. We pool party was pretty mellow. Matt (Disco) and I went to get pizza and beer, but it turns out the pizza place has two locations, so instead of returning within 15 minutes or so, it was much longer.

All in all it was nice to have a cool dip after the ride. I guess I was the only one to have mechanicals all day. I got a flat after getting onto the 3 mile fire road back up to the cars, and my phone no longer works after jumping into the pool to save Jared's son from going under. Luckily I have full coverage on this phone, and I'll be at Verizon to replace it today.

Thanks everyone it turned out to be a great day!!

Thumbs up Major props to Cathy (CC)

Not only did she open up her place to a bunch of tired sweaty mountain bikers, but she ran off and picked up the pizza and beer as well... and as far as what happened at the pool party stays at the pool party.

The ban on cameras was understood by all.... although I'm still waiting for the R rated picture of Gene and Ceasar....

Gene has called me out on this but lately I've found myself saying "This is my new FAVORITE TRAIL" and SART is no exception to that quote. Thanks OMR for putting this together and everyone else for making this one of the most memorable rides to date. As some have mentioned I did go over the bars which happened very quickly and I somehow did a full 360 flip with my bike still attached to my feet. To add insult to injury about a second after I landed on the ground the bike landed on my head. I got up quickly and rode off as if nothing happend hence the nickname Trail Jesus. Luckily I brought my camera this time so I actually have trail pictures. Here ya go...

Gene w-francisco.jpg

Let me clarify, that is NOT my blow-up doll, Francisco was given to my daughter as a joke from her cheer leading friends, because she always complained about not having a boyfriend.

Oh and Jesse I think I have a picture of you, right after you became a dirttorpeedo!
