if you really don't appreciate it, don't read them. i for one like to read them because she tells the story much differently when she types it out and posts it than when she tells me things verbally.
Agreed Justin. Some people just find anything they can to complain about.Great job to all those who raced.I enjoyed reading all the stories.Long or short!

I had a question about two people I saw out there.

One was a girl that fell on a hill around marlin, she tweaked her handle bars a full 90degrees to the wheels and I came down to you and helped until the quad people got there and got help. How are you doing? Everything alright? You on here?

Another thing is that one super steep hill you go up after the down hill straight away, you gun it in 3 7 and you still only make it 9/10 the way up, just to hop off and walk the rest, or you can down shift. Its is in the little valley following dragons back. Well there was a girl that I was hauling ass by and she laughed and said "you are the man." I thought about it later and I felt like an ass for not saying thanks, so here is the thanks, just to get it off my chest. You on here?

I am somewhat new to the site so I dont know names to faces.

I keep reading the stories and I am amped to do another 12hr.

Also: Anyone else see a bunch of snakes? I saw 5, one bigger sized rattler on the ridge on my last lap, 2 smaller snakes, a garden snake and a run over baby rattler. I was exchanging words with a guy on the trail about the big rattler at about 8pm. You on here?

I thought it was just me but I guess not. I guess some people handle their jealousy with hate? At least this thread is mountain bike related about riding a mountain bike on a mountain bike site.

I did not see any snakes but I heard alot of LOUD bugs and they sounded pissed! All through the single track I could hear them. As soon as I would approach this loud buzz would come from the side of the trail and then again from the other side all the way down all day until the sun began to set. I could hear them over the IPOD sometimes.

Maybe I'm just trying to see the good in people and maybe that post was just a "tongue in cheek response" ...

Allison's ride reports are inspiring and comprehensive. They give those of us that can't/didn't ride an accurate depiction of the conditions and the perspective from the riders/racers view.

Whatever that posters intent was, meh! ... Don't stop with your novella's or novels or short stories or whatever else you'd like to call your ride posts.

Congrats everyone and to Allison for such a great finish and accomplishment!

My first solo race was the 12 hours of Temecula. It's such a great venue the torture of riding 12 hours doesn't seem so bad... or does it?

What do you mean 'felt like'?... I did puke on a couple of those climbs.

Have to agree, will not be at all long till Alison is at the pro level for sure..... Few more finishes like that and full sponsorship will be looming....

Now imagine how that will feel, you will not walk but float, well done, truly awesome result.....

I don't know Allison much, I see Justin and Allison at the races all of the time and we exchange some hello's or some occasional small talk. It seems like they have both improved tremendously this year with some great results from a lot of hard training and I consider them both to be very solid riders.

Having said that, Allison out did herself Sat.! She put on a BIG TIME performance, and I think she let everybody know who attended this race, that she is for REAL. When I had my butt parked in the chair, recovering from the heat and not wanting to even look at my bike, Allison was out there doing laps.

I just personally wanted to congratulate Allison on her unbelievable effort. For anybody who did not attend, It was miserable hot and 8 laps took a HUGE effort. This could be a springboard result that launches her to the next level. GREAT JOB!

I didn't see any snakes! I don't even recall snake trails at all.

Thanks

I think most of us are adults and it is far too easy to use the "ignore" feature, or simply just not read anything in racing threads if you don't want to read stuff.

Don't like me? Send me a PM and work it out or put me on ignore. Problem solved.

Those of us that are adults and can't act like it, well... they need to ride their bikes more cause obviously something is lacking

Me? I had a great weekend. And I can't wait to get back on my bike(s) next week with some awesome people and great trails. That's all it really boils down to.

Thanks everyone for the kind words!!

It does really show that (a LOT ) hardwork does really pay off!

I think all of us (and more important our support personnel!!) did awesome just getting out there. It was a great experience for me. I enjoyed the comraderie a lot. When XC racing usually it is all about passing or being passed and barely hanging on. I actually made a point of introducing myself to people that I wound up riding with quite often and had a good time chatting and hanging out.

Sooo... now how do I convince Justin to be my pit guy for November??
