Default Bonelli on fire

Dislocated1 and I rode Marshall today and overheard someone saying Bonelli was on fire and we could see a fire at what looked like Bonelli. Anyone have info on this? Hopefully not a plane crash

That'd be ironic... I heard on the news they were using Bonelli a few days ago as a staging area for firefighters battling the mt. Baldy fire.

As I was driving up the 55 it looked like Anahiem Hills was on fire then I got further up and it looked like it was Chino instead but that could be Bonelli too...

No additional info except that the freeways in that general area are brutal right now, and I bet it will only get worse once the normal Friday rush hour starts. I got stuck on the 57N right at via verde for about half an hour around 11:30am.

POMONA, Calif.—A wildfire swept through oak-studded brushlands dangerously close to homes Friday as Southern California moved into a weekend of dry, scorching weather.

The 25-acre fire broke out shortly before 11 a.m. in rolling hill country. Several blocks of homes were next to the creeping flames and while no evacuations were ordered, it was threatening homes because of the proximity, Los Angeles County fire Inspector Sam Padilla said.
Fire crews were sent to protect the houses and set up firelines around the flames that sent up layers of white smoke above acres of yellow brush that provided quick-burning fuel.
"All that was green maybe two or three weeks ago, but now that is dry," Padilla said.
Winds were light and the fire was moving slowly westward, Padilla said.
"It's not running. It's creeping," he said.
Meanwhile, another wildfire flared in neighboring Riverside County but no homes were threatened, officials said.
That fire, in Corona, was expected to be contained at five acres, said Massiel Ladron De Guevara, spokesperson for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
The Corona blaze was reported only two minutes after the Pomona fire started, 17 miles away. The Pomona fire was near a highway and the Corona fire just off a freeway, officials said, but there was no immediate word on what caused them or whether they were related. In neighboring San Bernardino County, crews continued to battle a 420-acre wildfire that erupted Tuesday on the flanks of Mount Baldy in the Angeles National Forest.

It was 60 percent contained and no injuries or building damage were reported although six vacation homes in a canyon remained evacuated as the fire crept through rocky, steep terrain. The fires came on the leading edge of an expected heat wave that could see near-record highs over the weekend. The National Weather Service predicted some interior valleys could top 100 degrees as a high-pressure system moved into the region.

It's farther south than Bonelli. More like Chino Hills/Diamond Bar

I agree, this could be the start of a really bad summer locally, with all the green hill sides turning brown right before our eyes.

We're just heading N. Just didn't want there to be any reasons for traffic to be worse than normal
