Thumbs up le Tour de Noble

The weather in SD wasn't all that great today, Pine Valley on the other hand was absolutely gorgeous. Warm with a cool breeze, clear skies and great visibility. Up extra credit, down Whore then the climb to the oak tree. Descended down to Indian Creek and proceeded up and up and up. Bombed down pinball(super fun) and climbed over to Noble and went up some more to Penny Pines, had a great PB, B, & J and took off for BLT. I just did the meadow loop as I was having some rear tire issues that had already stolen a half hour of riding time, so, no Middle Earth for me. Took another break at the top of Noble and then took off for some fun. It was an uneventful but fun descent then a climb up Whore and then back to the car. Saw a ridiculous amount of lizards and stinkbugs but the highlight of the day was seeing this turkey with at least twelve babies following her. Also, for some reason there was an XT chain and an Ultegra cassette just sitting on the side of the trail, I just left them there. The trail conditions are absolutely great out there right now. I was riding solo today so I didn't want to push it on the descents too much, I still had a blast though. It was really nice to just get out and ride in such a beautiful place. Enjoy the pics:

Thanks for the RR. It looks like it was a perfect day to ride there, bet you didn't see anyone else on the trails either, huh?
Thinking I'm gonna pick a weekday to ride there too.

Hay Darryl. I wish I had an opportunity to come out with you. Sorry for flaking. Man looks like good times. Amor and a group of his buds are going this Saturday but have to flake on that trip too. Have too many family functions going on this month.
I hope to ride out there some time soon with you and the guys. Glad you had fun and thanks for sharing you awesome pictures.

Great R/R and pics, sometimes a solo mission is just what one needs, ah...tranquility..... although company makes the ride exciting.
Cool to see turkeys on the ride, do you remember when cattle used to roam around there?

Great RR and photos, as always thanks for sharing! Looks like the Shimano parts were left as an offering to the trail gods . I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your ride.

Thanks-

Those pics were great. Was that a one legged turkey with baby? I also really liked your black & white photo.

All of these pictures just keep confirming that I MUST GET MY ASS OUT TO NOBLE CANYON. Might even have to call in sick to get out there during the week if I have to.....

Thanks again-

FP

Hey Daryl how many miles on that ride? So did you start from the upper Noble trailhead and did you skip the lower Noble chunky stuff like Stairway to Hell, Widow Maker and all that?
Thanks for the RR.

Thanks for the RR.
It was about 26 miles with over 4000ft of climbing(for exact numbers, you could buy me a GPS). I climbed from the lower Noble trailhead(for route info read RR), and no I didn't skip the chunk, that's part of the reason I go.
