Fruita: Day 2: Bookcliffs 18 Road
Awesome day at 18 Road in Fruita. Heading to the Breckenridge Ale House for dinner. There's a teaser video here of Joe's Ridge. More RR and photos coming later.

John, y'all gotta bring back some gems from Breckenridge for Sam's beer party!
Last time I had anything from them (actually the only time) I found it in Michigan, had the Vanilla Porter and Trademark Pale - hope they're as good at the brewery as they were back then! By the way, aren't y'all on a riding trip? All I see is drinking...

Single Track Mind

Day 2 Fruita was going to be an easy ride, so we can get acclimated to the elevation which is about 5300. We agreed on the Bookcliffs area which has numerous singletracks with not much climbing involved.
We got up and had a nice breakfast. IMG_0464.JPG Once our bellys were filled, we headed out tp the Bookcliffs area just to get our feet wet. IMG_0465.JPG IMG_0466.JPG Once at the trailhead we decided to do Primecut which gets you to most of the other trails. Here's a shot of the Tribal. Here's Vickie on the last part of the climb. Riding at altitude was bad enough not to mention she has asthma! Way to go Vickie!

We were able to sample the best trails in the Bookcliffs/18 Road area in the morning hours. Recommend doing them in this order: Kessel Run, Joe's Ridge, and then Zippity Doo Dah.
These trails are really alot of fun and not too techincal They are steep and VERY exposed in places though.
