Thanks Vic. There were a few more trails that we didn't do like Chutes and Ladders. You could spend all day at Bookcliffs and do everything. Our plan was to go get lunch and check out downtown Fruita and their LBS, but then the weather turned on us so we call it a day. Hopefully today we can get our rides in.

AHhh... Brings back awesome memories. Did you guys go into Over the Edge? That shop had such a cool vibe and some great vintage bikes hanging around. You cant miss the tandem DH Intense with Shimano Airlines sitting in the window! Crazzzzy!

Thanks for the pictures. I really like KWH's big screen-filling (click-for) versions. They brighten up a dull morning.

Shirt-sleeve weather too!

I'll try Tim but they don't sell it at the brewery strangely enough, and the grocery store only sells their mainstream stuff.

There's actually a local winery that had amazing Cab. Justin and I took JimN's suggestion on an Italian restaurant in downtown GJ (the reason Justin wants to move ). They had gotten too many cases or gotten a discount, so the wine was pretty cheap and it was amazing!!

Il Bistro Italiano, and Two Rivers Winery.

Default 3.2

nice pics, I miss Fruita.

The Vanilla Porter and some of the other Breck stuff you should be able to find in the liquor stores there. Just keep in mind that all the beer you buy at a Colorado grocery store will be under 3.2%.

VERY exposed section on ZDD.

ZDD goes for miles like this. Simply awesome. But if you're scared of heights - avoid this trail.
When you say "exposed" do you mean "fall thousands of feet to your death with a small thud at the bottom" exposed, or do you mean "if I fall off the trail here I will slide for days, leaving most of my exposed skin behind, but still get up with a smile on my face, and climb back up to ride some more" kind of exposed??

There's more of that in the Kokopelli Trail System IMO than at 18 Road.

My grandpa did NOT like these photos

Penalty for failure (IMO) is a bit lower at 18 Road

Ya, but at the Kokopelli area, the trail really isn't anywhere near the edge of that cliff. It's close on one stretch, but even that is 5+ feet away and on a flat. Of the all the Fruita trails (18 Road/Kokopelli), Zippity scares me the most. I'm a wee bit leary of heights and the penalty for failure on Zippity is huge.

Zippity's crazy because you fall left - you tumble down a hill, you fall right - you tumble down the other hill, you slow down on the climb - you tumble backward down the hill, and if you are just lucky enough, you might go over your handlebars straight ahead and land on the trail ahead of you that's 15 inches wide. But then your bike tumbles down the side of the hill.

Zippity's also really smooth though, so unless you start gawking at the scenery, everything should be okay and really fun. I think its one of those trails where it is scariest to stop or put your feet down.

Western Rim had MEGA exposure on the left ...and it's a VERY hard fall..unlike Zippity Doo Dah!

We had video of Zippity Doo Dah, but somehow the feed cable came loose so we had audio, no video.

The drive out here took us just under 12 hrs, we left at 5:30am from So OC and stopped once just past Vegas to eat breakfast.

Have you seen the Day 4 RR yet. It gets better.
