Default Sycamore: Two Foxes?

Road around the Sycamore area for the 3rd time and did a little exploring...

Here's where I started... The Horse Ranch Trail... The black car by itself is my car...

Then went down to the canyon, past the house with the dog and turned right after the shack, and another right up to the fun stuff... It's Two Foxes, right?

Here's looking east to the Sycamore road...

Standing at the fork in the road looking back at the shaded creek/ditch I crossed...

Did not know which way to go at the fork... Was hoping to eventually end up back on pavement... Instead, I turned around and did the whole thing again...

Made it up the "Black Bitch" and back to the horse trail and finally to me car...

That's all she wrote... I'm sure some of you ride this all the time, but I'm a newb... Please for give me...

Gonna try Hell Hill and Wood Canyon next...

Here's a great site for Sycamore/Pt Mugu trails.

http://www.venturacountytrails.org/T...AreaTrails.htm

I'll actually be heading up there this Sunday and camping overnight

Default Sycamore

If anyone wants to hit Sycamore during the weekdays, give a shout. I can ride anytime, just need to be done before 2pm. It's right in my backyard and I know the loops very well out there and then some.

Right on... I might have to block out my work calendar one of these days...

Hey, we're headed up on Saturday morning to camp for 2 nights! Wanna ride together on Sunday?
I know those trails somewhat, but would love to ride with someone who knows them better. I always feel like there is tons of stuff I'm missing out on when I ride there.

So I'm gonna give this a little bump rather than starting my own thread.

We went up there this past weekend...TWICE!

We started from the PCH side, though. We like the fact that you start with the climb (very gradual) and get to have a fun easier way back down.

I did see Two Foxes trail, but it turns out we stayed on the fire roads. So we plan on going back soon to hit the actual trails.

My question is, if you start from the 101 side, do you end up going DOWN first, and end up having to work hard to get back to your car? I guess there are so many ways to go I don't even know where to start!

PS...Hell Hill...wow...that thing is killer. We had to walk it after the first two turns.

Anyone wanna go up there together one of these weekends? We usually only ride about 10 miles including the roads, though...but I'm sure we could keep going if we build in some rest and a snack in the middle of it.

Yes, it is a paved climb back to your car at the end of your ride... not what would call a happy ending

Oh, it was painful to be up there two weekends ago camping with my son and the scouts and not be able to ride. We brought the bikes, but couldnt manage to find time to slip away. Your photos show some nice trails we missed out on.

Just a reminder for those who wish to ride Sycamore. I live right near the top of the canyon, which means the ride ends with the dreaded black bitch climb out.
