Thumbs up RR: Oaks Trail Work BIG Thanks!

Just a quick post to say THANKS to all that showed up today!

Mark made the drive down from Brentwood to help out on trails he rarely get's to ride.

Very COOL!

We had a good sized group, even though it was freak'n HOT, and were able to get plenty done.

So, once again, BIG THANKS!!!

Out of the shade, and into the sun we go.......

Jake heads up Taco ready to work!

Hot Dog, now known as Grasshopper needed a good trim!

Riderofbikes, Daryl, and The Great North American BadHead doing the trimming!

Jake showing the trails some love!

Andrew and Matt getting their first taste of trail work. They did an outstanding job!

The reward for hard work!

Now we need to get out there and ride these trails, and have some FUN!!

Despite the heat, it was a great time down at Oaks today. It was nice to finally put faces behind the usernames! You all are awesome! Whenever I can, I'll always willing to head down to OC to lend a helping hand.

I went riding there yesterday at about 2:30 and only saw one other person one bike. However on my way down Zips I ran into three guys that were very drunk! One was laying on the ground right off the side of the trail with a beer and a cigaret. They were wearing jeans, cowboy boots and no shirts and looking VERY red. They also had one horse with them. The heat brings out some interesting people!

I was going to say something but after thinking about it I did the math. Three drunk cowboys and one tired lycra wearing mountain biker probably wouldn't turn out well.

I was waiting to see smoke last night but so far so good.....

Great group at the trail work on Sunday! Thanks so much to everyone that has put efforts into getting our trails back and now getting them brushed/cleared and ready to ride.....that is where I will be on our group ride on Tuesday night! I love interacting with the Rangers and seeing their faces when they come to check on us on how our work is progressing and we are DONE! Amazingly hard work put in by everyone on a 90 degree plus day....sorry I didn't do lunch and ride afterwards..but I was done...needless to say I am not use to trailwork, now I know how all of you have such nice "guns"!

Thanks for posting the pics! It was nice to meet everyone.

This was my first time doing trailwork and it was VERY rewarding! It was very cool to pick up a tool I've never seen before and turn the trail into something rideable. Rain ruts? Not after we were finished. Weeds? Gone.

Now we just need people to ride the trails to pack them down.

Default Excellent

I enjoyed seeing people I haven't seen in a long time, meeting new folks, and doing the rewarding trailwork with great crew. Feels good to have a sense of sweat equity in it, and thanks to SHARE for the killer lunch after!

Not critiquing or anything, but I can't see any where for runoff. No waterbars?

Anywho, thanks for the hardwork.

Waterbars were installed at several locations. In quite a few spots there was natural drainage.
