Default RR: BFlo goes to the desert

Sunday morning, i went over to my dads house, and upon arrival, my stepmom told me i had to pack the trailer since we were going dirtbike riding for the Whole Week! Being crazily excioted, since it would be my first trip since glamis in january, i quickly ran to the trailer and cleaned the whole trailer, and loaded all the bikes in just under 2 hours. Not bad at all for having a brother who decided not to help. My dad got to leave work early, so we left for the desert at 430 PM to meet our friends at Wild Wash Rd. off the 15. An hour or so later, we were exiting the freeway and hit the dirt road a bit faster than normal with anticipation to unpack and get a fire burning, since we were all too lazy to change for a short ride before it got dark. (only my dads bike has a light.)
Well, we quickly unloaded and settled in, and our friends Kirk and Sue piled into our trailer to eat snakcs and talk and play little games to pass the night, since it was way too windy for a fire. *The gusts were up to at least 40 MPH. Time went by too fast and we soon found ourselves crawling into bed to get some rest before a day of heavy riding.

Monday morning, we all slept in until about 830 or so and ate breakfast and cleaned the trailer up some more making last minute adjustments. Well, it was still way to windy to ride and have it be fun. Jumping was near inpossible at that much of a wind. Again, we all piled into our 40 ft beast of a trailer and mingled and ate snacks and chatted. We had just started talking about how our cousins had got kicked out of wild wash once before, when i heard tires coming in the dirt..
I turned around and said "Crap, Code Enforcement." My dad quickly ran outside with his cop mentality at play and started chatting with Klein Smith, the code enforcement officer. Well, according to Mr Klein Smith, Code 43 46 says we couldnt camp there since it was private property, although it was not posted ANYWHERE. My dad came back with, "Is that code 4346, or codes 43 and 46?"
Klein started slurring words and could not make up his mind. He concludedif he came back and we were there he would Cite us. (Sp?) Well, my dad made some calls, and decided we would just move to avoid a hassle. We made fun of him all weekend for wearing a Tactical vest, that contained a few black and blue pens, a name tag and nothing else. He was also equipped with a Taser. Which my dad said he almost took it from mr Smirth and tased him with it. Well, we packed up everything, except my dirtbike and my brothers dirtbike. Well, we decided to go to the next exit, which is Hodge, and me and my brother met my dad there except we rode our dirtbikes.. Well, to make a long story short, the rest of the day was just like arriving at wild wash the previous day.
Tuesday we woke up same time, ate breakfast, and still had a crapload of wind. i went for a ride by myself in the hills surrounding where we camped for a bit then returned to the trailer to chill out and relax. Just then i get a call from Ricky (RockintheCasbah) and he was 10 minutes away. When he got there, we went for a ride, and i quickly found Ricky is just as fast and crazy on a dirtbike as he is on a mountain bike. The bike he was given by his little brother had WAY too much sag, so he couldnt ride as well as he wanted to, but he still proved to me he was an awesome rider. After our short ride, we went back and hung out at the trailer with my family and friends. A bit later i talked my dad into getting ready and going for a ride with us. We went to the "snake Pit", which is an old well where snakes fall into and cant get out so my dad usually pulls them out, however, there were noen this time .
Well, after this ride, we went back, and ricky decided to leave because the wind was too strong to ride and have alot of fun. Wind Blows ()
Wednesday we woke up and wind AGAIN! CRAP!! i thought to myself. at this point i had ridden maybe 15 miles at the absolute MOST and thats just a ballpark guess. Wednesday we watched movies and i putted around the hills again for a bit.
Thursday, we woke up to near perfect weather. Me and my dad decided to go for a good ride, just the two of us. Well, we started towards outlet center dr and ended up where they stage the offroad races and looked at a couple cars that some people were pre running for an upcoming poker run. Between where we camped and outlet center, we found these flowers and thought they were pretty.

Then my dad decided he wanted to be in a pic. (sorry for the shadows)

Then we left into huge hills and soon we found ourselves at Slash X. It was my first time there and it was neat. We were the only ones there but we took a quick break. Long enough for me to take 2 Pics.

We soon left into more hills, and found ourselves atop this HUGE hills, that were tough to climb since it consisted of huge rocks. It reminded me of that Ersberg race in europe that has gnarly rock sections.
Well, we sat on this huge hill then returned to camp, and found out we were gone for 2 hours. We went 38 miles in that 2 hours. It made for a nice ride.

Friday, me and my dad decided to go for another easier and shorter ride so our friend could come with us. This ride was 18 miles and we saw some sort of Army people setting up barrack type things and had no idea what was going on. It wasnt until the next day we found out what was really happening.
Later that evenging, around 6, we were shooting from our camp toward a huge hill as our backstop. after we had unloaded around 100 rounds of .22, we saw a plane coming and stopped shooting to see what it was about. CRAP!! it said Highway Patrol and it flew low and right over us. We quickly hid the guns in the trailers in case someone came. the plane turned around and flew over again then dissapeared along the 15. Well, it was just a warning, so later that night we went to wild wash and shot the 45 handguns we have.

Saturday, we woke up to another nice day. Our cousins had come the ngiht before and we helped them unload. This day, me and my dad and my uncle, Chad, went for antoher similar ride but around 28 miles. We got up that same hill and found out due to his GPS that the gravel ish hill was at 3800 feet.. which was the highest hill we could see.
*THis is as far as my camera would zoom in.. that is outlet center.

*and slash X zoomed all the way in

Later in the day we went for a family ride.. We went over to where we saw those army gus and found these two signs.

Well, saturday night, my dad also let me practice driving. I also forgot to mention i went driving friday too. I drove maybe 3 miles on the dirt highway type roads that nobody was on. There was nobody on the roads but i still had fun driving. It was my first time going faster than 5 mph to practice parking. I actually got to go 30 or so. Couldnt go much faster since it was offroad. My little brother thought it was funny to criticize me so when we stopped i accelerated pretty quick and i think i scared him ebcause he stopped talking for a bit then he wouldnt shut up.

This morning we packed up and left. Overall it was a fun trip. More pics should be up later in the week but my stepmom has them and she works alot.
Thanks for listening to my Spiel.

Good times. I miss the throttle twisting days. I'll probably get another dirt bike some day. In the mean time..."with age comes a cage," meaning I'm building a Ranger prerunner.

I'm not sure whether or not I'll switch back to dirtbiking. Did that for 5+ years before picking up MTB riding again. Riding the MTB is a far more enjoyable and easy-to-do activity. Dirtbikes are great fun, but they just consume huge amounts of time.

BFloFoxRider, that RR brought back many good memories of riding at Stoddard. Super fun area.

FWIW, they have been busting people at Wild Wash and Dale Evans for the past year at least, so it is nothing personal.

thanks
i knew that but i think its dumb. the code enforcement officer could not stick to his sources and could not hold a story. and also said, " if its not posted, one should assume its private and not legal." i thought taht was stupid. one can assume many things.

Should have brought your MTB and stopped by my house.

You could have ridden the Teeter Totter and got a few downhill runs in.

Cool Brandon. Driving is fun at first then came the traffic and gas prices.
The freedom is still great.

Now we just need to teach you have to do a rockford and controlled 4 wheel drifts. This will show your driving instructor whats up.
