Good stuff, thanks to all that organized the ride. It reminded me a lot of the rolling oak foothills in Nor-Cal, made me a bit homescik...anyways I was pleased that it was still nice and green. First time there and I liked it, the trails are singlespeed bliss. With the openness of the trails you can gear 2x1 or higher and just fly. The Slaughter House Trail coming back down the canyon looks very interesting. Thanks again.

We had a very good turn out of about 25 riders. Some new and some old skool STR folks. I was happy to meet you and put a face to the STR IDs and have a few laughs!
Bluerat led the pack, myself, Pato, and JoJo swept around the middle and the end of the group. The trail route we took can be seen here:http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=2075 The weather was cool around 8:30am but heated up a bit by 11:00am. Trail conditions were for the most part hard packed, sandy, dusty, horses, horse doodie bombs , snakes, but that didn't stop anyone from smiling! ![]() David was very generous to leave the main group and show the kids around the smaller loop by the parking lot. Everyone showed a very hearty interest and will to crest the hills and descend through the technical sections. Also hats off to the children who literally road through the same sections!! We finished around 11:30 and headed over to Stadium Pizza for Pizza and beer. ![]() I have a few photos and I do hope the rest of the riders will add to this thread since I ran into camera problems at the worst time! ![]() I did get a photo of for you flannel fans. Ken thanks for putting this all together. Maria and I had a great time and it was my pleasure to lead the charge. I hope we can do more of these rides.

What a fun ride today! Johnathan really had a great time. I know he was happy that there were some other kids on the ride.
At first I figured we would do the smaller loop but after watching him I thought maybe he could hang with the big guys and although I think he might have made it I knew he was getting a little tired. So not wanting him to get discouraged from riding I decided to cut our ride a little short. I was a proud grandpa though because he did make a lot of the climbs that I did not think he would and I could actually see an improvement in him from just the beginning of the ride. Thanks everyone for the encouragement and to Ken for hosting the ride and once again nice meeting some more riders.
