Locals don't ride here on weekends any more.

Good on ya for making it up switchbacks without dabbing, many can't say that.

Great RR, steph (you must be a teacher, too!). I spend so much time down in SD; it's sad that I have yet to ride anything short of Daley Ranch down your way.

Perhaps a big STR down south is in order?

Maybe it was an off-weekend because of the heat but we didn't see many people.

Thanks...I almost stalled out on one or two but I pushed through.

Must be why the weekends aren't as crowded as a couple of months ago after the trail work day! On the other hand, over half of the people I see on weekends are regulars that I know are local (cuz I like to stop and talk). And I still can't clean the switchbacks. But I'm having fun. Can't ride very often during the week due to work and family.

It's a fun trail network. The people who built those trails did an awesome job.

Yeah, no kiddin. It's like a freaggin circus on the weekends, even at 6:30 am!
Can't complain though...this place does rock and I couldn't be luckier to have it as my backyard trail.

Then, the next thing you know, Pardee's bulldozing it...

Great RR and photos! It was a bit warm yesterday. Wow, 92 in La Costa is saying a lot, considering it's not too far from the coast. Thanks for posting.

Your buddy almost sounds like the long lost twin brother of Pete (BrahMa). He too is a gnar-core Kite Boarder who only rides (anymore) when the gusts are not blowing. He too can out-climb, out descend, out-huck most everyone, no matter how infrequently he rides. The only major disparity and unlike your buddy, he's not the nicest guy in the world. In fact, he's nothing short of a super a-hole!

I was surprised it was so hot there yesterday too. I kind of thought this would be a good ride when it's hot everywhere else.

Just came back from La Cosa. Freakin HOT this weekend. Ridiculous. Got back to the car at around 10:30AM and my thermometer read 94 degrees.
