Default Big Bear people, is there an easy ride there?

Hey Big Bear folks, I have a chance to get a cabin up there for a good price, anyone got any nice trails with small to no(I know impossible) climbs? I want to take my friends(not MT Biking nuts, but they ride now and then) up to that area and ride? any extremely noob rides in this area?

Towne trail?
It runs east-west at the base of snow sumit. Virtually zero climbing, zero gnar and zero exposure. Some single track. You can't make much of a loop out of it though.

Not a great trail though. It's kind of boring.

Grout Bay was an excellent ride, not too much climbing if you start at Hana Flats Campground. Not certain as to what is open since the fires. A very useful resource is the owner of Bear Valley Bikes, Derek (www.bvbikes.com)

Here is a link to a site with the most popular trails in Big Bear: http://adventurehostel.com/BigBearLa...railGuide.html

And yes, Snow Summit still opens the Sky Chair to bicycles in the Summer!!! http://www.bigbearmountainresorts.com/summer/biking.php

Bike Mag just had a good article about Big Bear's future in the most recent issue. They mention a lot of area trails.

Take the chair lift up and ride them down the AE01 trail - I guarantee they'll love it. Of course you may have to wait a month or so for the chair lift to open to bikes?

You'll never find AE01... It's 1E01. And it's an awesome little bit of singletrack. It's narrow in some spots with some exposure, but has fantastic flow...

Be prepared for a lot of boring fireroad climbs if you're on 2N10 or 2N08, but they get you to the great singletrack.

Ah yes, sorry slight memory lapse. Tis indeed a really nice flowy piece of trail. Can't wait to ride that again this summer

Website says they are slated for closing down winter operations on April 13th, with a slight possibility of staying open longer.

The Snow Summit chair usually opens for mountain biking on memorial day weekend.

You might be able to ride most of the areas right now if you want to climb for it. I haven't been up there lately but from the what I see on Snow Summit's web cam, snow coverage looks sparse where they haven't made snow.
