RR: San Juan/Main Divide/Los Pinos

Sat I got to experience the San Juan Trail/Main Divide/Los Pinos loop for the first time. The weather started out sweet....but the clouds and coolness swept in by the time we got to Blue Jay. The loop was tough and the hike a biking was just relentless but the views were rewarding and beautiful. We had a group of six....and the funny thing is one of the guys was up taking pictures during my last fiasco extraction visit to SJT. I had a great time chasing Noble Steve down all the fast stuff and I got thumped good once.....but had I 3 crashes total. You need that sometimes to keep things in check....good stuff!

I have to say...I do not know why anyone would go out and ride Main Divide unless they have to....that thing is just plain soft, loose and boring!.....Oh and hurts.

While we were out there I got to play with some guys doing the Ultra Quest ride......man did they look worked. Had some good conversation at the rest stop and off to hike a bike we went.

All in all it was a god day, hard riding and challenging. No major mechanicals or injuries....no Helo extractions or beautiful blue eyed helpers but great just the same.

I look forward to doing it again.

It fell into my lap at like 8:30 Fri nite....someone I rode with at La Costa on Thurs called me to say they were not doing Noble but instead SJT. I will drive up for that. I didn't even know the route till I got to the trail head.

Really....Thats my story....and i'm sticking to it.....

Next time bro.....

Fixed....it was Sat. How could i be back and post by 9am....I'm not that fast Foo.....

good stuff. we did that exact loop about 2 months ago on 41 pound bikes, a tough one! great descents though
