Default Holy Jim/Seek the Peak and back

Friday I went up Holy Jim and up to the peak and back. The climb was nice. Not too hot, but by the time I got to the Main Divide, it was pretty warm.

I didn't hammer as I was out late once again at Roscoes and Heroes with the usual suspects and didn't get to bed till 2am.Almost decided not to go, but glad I did.

It's really nice to ride on Friday as Jeff (J_Sims) will tell ya from his ride up San Juan that no one is out there during the week day. Took a few pics just to give my new camera a try and after bagging the peak, I put it away. Not much else to say except the trail is great shape still and there's still plenty of water flowing in the streams crossings.

Great pics Gene. I plan on doing this route on 4/12th. Maybe even add Trabuco. Looks like that Rocky Mtn. is working out pretty nice for you.

That would've been a good route, and I thought about it for a full second , but it was surprisingly hotter that day so going towards the "Wall" would've been brutal after partying all night. Besides, I knew I had ITT/Coldwater the next day.

Yeah, I think temperature will decide how far we go that day. But since I'm taking 7 days after off and sitting around stuffing my face on vacation I'll try to really kill it that day.

HJ> Peak day 1; day 2 ITT>CW. Gene I hope you're sitting around with your feet up today! You look like you guys had a good time though, and that's most important.

Don't forget 2 laps on the Fully on Thurs. Today, I did a ride up Black Star with some WS members and we hiked to the waterfall there just before Hidden Ranch. I'll post up pics of that on another thread. Tomorrow is a NO RIDE day.

Great pics, Gene.

I really need to spend more time up there before the Traverse rolls around. I did about 28 miles on Thursday--blackstar over to Eagle & back.

But I know I need to up the mileage a bit and REALLY up the amount of elevation gain in the next month & a half.

Thanks Dan. Just beyond Eagle is about the 1/4 mark of the Traverse.
