I've never been to any of those event's so I don't know who shows up. Plus I don't remember when I started riding, but it definitely wasn't March or April.

Can't wait to jump in another race again though, and hopefully not crash this time.

Allison, you were not the only one held up by slow sport guys. I was in the 55+ group. They had singlespeed guys and clydesdales in our group. Those younger guys did not like us old guys in front of them. It was pretty rough until we hit the pavement. A lot shoulder banging going on. All hell broke loose on the first steep hill. I pre rode the start of the race in the morning. I new there was only one line going up. The guys that took the outside lost traction and stopped.

The pavement climb went about normal. Then the fun single track started. It was fun until I hit that little rock drop. That is about where the line started. We were going about jogging speed. Didn't clear until after the big sandtrap. After that it wasn't to bad. Sea Otter last year we actually came to a stop for at least 5 minutes at the beginning of the singletrack. So it could have been worse.

My time was 5 minutes slower than the last time I raced there. (end of Feb). And I am in better shape now. So you kicked ass.

I like to use my crashes as a sign that I'm pushing myself. As far as learning anything from it- I'm not sure. Maybe too lazy to learn?

Come on man cut me a little slack!

Sharky, have you tried putting a little saturation on the setting for your camera? Your photos are awsome! And of course even though I wasn't racing, I really appreciate you going out to all these races and taking time to snap shots of everyone!

Huge props to the entire Incycle team, they showed up in force! Like Gil Caz said previously, 9 podiums from the team, not too shabby. What he failed to mention is that he took home two first place trophies! Well, 1 trophy, and 1 really cheesy medal. Looks like The Path riders cleaned up on the medals/trophies as well, congratulations to everyone, it was a looong weekend!

Well, Allison pretty much summed up the XC bottleneck/cluster. It was pretty bad...I rode the same bike as the last Fontana race and was 4 minutes slower. Lots of people walking...up hills and down hills. Boggles my mind. I guess I get a little impatient being that I have *some* technical descending skills....I am not the fastest climber but I will certainly yield the trail...

Decided not to race DH this weekend...I had to work on Friday and with about 3 hours of practice potentially, I didn't feel up to it. I had a great time spectating, though and got to catch some great races...expert XC, part of semi pro short track, pro women XC, pro DH, and the Cal State DH.

Enjoy...first the XC and pit life...
