I have lots of photos of DH that I'll post tonight...Nats and Cal State runs.

As far as XC goes....I'll be brief and write more later...but, it was a cluster...sport women started off two minutes after beginner men. Passing on the course was a nightmare. Folks need to learn racing manners/etiquette.

I finished 2nd out of a field of 6.

More to say later......

Mine may take a day or two?
Thanks Sharky! There will be more going up throughout the day, but be patient. My parents are in town and I have not seen them for a year, so I'll be in and out.

For now I'll put some here.

Justin, Sunday race run

Roger

Dan

Justin again, he must have done two race runs

That's all for now. More will be up on RM later today. Good times again this weekend. Congrats to all the racers!

2nd is good!, ya the start times in cal races are always crappy, Neil used to have expert women start after him when he raced sport xc. Not as bad as passing guys who are still learning how to really ride/race their bike and let the faster racers by.

Not sure what the solution is, seems there's always an issue however the start times are!

It was actually the National that had the weird start times.

And, truthfully, most of the guys who wouldn't yield the trail were sport riders. Guess getting passed by a chick is bad for the ego?

No-one likes to get passed

Still can't wait to hear the details, we were in a tequilla coma, after celebrating Neils birthday Sat night, we had thoughts about making it out, but never got past 1st gear

I guess my point was that as sport riders, they should know the etiquette/rules. Beginners have an excuse (kind of)...sport riders don't.

Different at the national level. Expert women raced with expert men (they started after the men). Pro women and Pro men raced separately from each other and the expert's. Sport/Beginners raced together.

I don't think there is usually as big of a problem like at Fontana. They do Pro men, pro women, expert men, expert women, SS, sport men, sport women, beginner men, beginner women.

By the time the Pro's start passing me, it is all really spread out and there isn't a problem. I generally may pass a few of the older sport men, and sometimes they refuse to yield the DHs, but other times not.

The beginner men and older sport guys all started out and the first group I watched were walking up the first hill. Not just the mid-pack starters, but most of them. I knew then we were in for trouble.

I hammered up the pavement and tried to pass a few, but it didn't help any. Actually at the end of the first little descent it was the fastest sport woman that was holding up another guy and me (I have video evidence). I passed a few others prior.

The second time I descended that section it was pretty clear.

The back side singletrack I got stuck behind people as well. Finally the lead slow guy crashed and I was actually happy he went down! I just yelled at the guy in front of me to keep going (he didn't like that, but oh well).

It was rough going. I've never had *that* many problems locally.

But, we started only women together, so the guy's really should have taken a second to realize that we made up 2-4 minutes on them, and just to get out of the way. We weren't competing with them!

Beginners more than likely get out of the way. They usually don't feel like holding others up. I felt that way. Still do! When someone says rider back or can I pass, why not let them??

I had a great time.... After a 9 year hiatus from MTB racing I did pretty damn well ( I think.) Dropped a boat load of weight and got some legs under me again during the Southridge series; starting beginner, moved up to sport and managed to pull off an 8th place finish at the national.

Pumped on my bike again and ready for some traveling! See ya out there.... I am looking into doing all the west coast nationals if anyone is interested in heading out for racing! (Of course to help out w/ gas as well.)

Cheers,

C.K.

So some of you may remember my results from the WS finals. (look i bounce) http://s64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...CF0446_NEW.flvcrashed after the middle rockgarden.

But after some chill pills and relaxation I decided to run my own race and get across the finish line rubber down. Well I did better then that I got 2nd in beg men 19-26(in the grey) Thanks to dirtymike and the DH bastards (Lin in Al) for the warm greetings and support.

okay well I'm totally strapped down my the IT lord so I guess I'll have to get back to this later. But Ya, Yeah me!
