Turnbull Colors
Since I had a midweek day off I thought I go for a solo spin on a local trail. Xhunkr somehow heard of this midweek ride and poached it.
 It was good that he came along because we saw some unexpected things.  Beautiful but painful!!!  DOZED!!!  I almost ran into the bulldozer going down 7th st. The operator was nice enough to backup and let us pass. Xhunkr climbing Elevator  On Cow Trail we ran into a whole bunch of butterflies. It was kind of cool riding with about 50 butterflies around you.  Testing out the new bike on Cow Trail.  I heard the rattle but didnt see any snake so I just went by. I then heard Kevin said OH SH!T!!! I just ran over a big snake. We didnt stop to look or take pics because its real overgrown and it probably took off into the shrub anyways.   |

Everything is SO green. Seems like it's been years. Almost has.
Butterfly is a Painted Lady. If you ride Mammoth in the Spring you will no doubt take out ~100 of them migrating along the 395.

was a nice day out with Hans Solo. Tight thigh muscles made for an uncomfortable ride, but it's always good to be out. All was well UNTIL the snake. Did not expect it to be in the bushes, but there it was...right under my front wheel. Sorry little buddy...didn't mean to run over you. Going as slow as I do on the trail, I'm surprised he just popped out of nowhere. The place is looking awesome and we did not get any ticks!! I'll be watching ALL the trails a bit more closely for snakes now!
