Nice video. Haven't ridden SCST yet, looks pretty fun. Really enjoyed the music selection as well. Big Joy Division and New Order fan from way back, and, well, Sid Vicious is definitely Something Else!

Ceremony is a unique song in that it was written by Ian Curtis, but recorded in the studio by New Order after his death, further confusing matters. There is at least one recording of Joy Division performing it live (on Still, and perhaps elsewhere), but that would not be the one most would know. Finally, to lose the last of those that were still able to follow, New Order recorded and released two separate studio versions of Ceremony. The first featured the original foursome, the other was recorded when Gillian Gilbert joined the band. Although similar, there are noticeable differences. I believe the one on this video is the earlier studio version.

I just saw the movie Control... if you have any interest in Warsaw/Joy Division/New Order history, it's a must see... very well done, with input from Curtis' widow and based on her book about him.
Highly recommended....

Was questionable before, but now I've definitely hijacked this thread. My apologies.

Now, more importantly, the New Order/JD talk. I've alway been a fan of both. (this may date me, But) in 1986 I saw the Fall open for New Order at Irvine meadows. In fact a couple of us snuck in from the Lion Country side the the night before on Halloween for the Boingo show just so we would have a good route for the next night to watch New Order. Armed with bolt cutters and a bunch of drinkables, we stayed in the old animal pens all day waiting for that show. (we had money for beer but not for tickets?). |

I walked up the night of the show and got a 10th row ticket by myself. None of my friends would go. I was wearing my best Bauhaus black t-shirt. |
