it has been discussed a million times. you can't change the way it is. if you have an issue on the trail, try to deal with it there. don't carry the burden man!
Mech,

Remember that you can't change the way it is, when some hiker gets assaulted by a person riding too fast and out of control and the trails you like to ride get shut down to bicycles.

It can happen, it only takes one accident like that to a person with money that's willing to hire a slimy attorney, and we all lose. It's called risk management.

I'm beginning to feel the desire again to go horseback riding on some sweet shuttled single track.

I knew someone would have to make this point, again.

I do not mean this to be disrespectful since I know that you only make this point because you care about our sport. What I think Mechman is trying to say that it is somewhat pointless to bring this stuff up over and over again. The problem is that the only people that are 'getting the message' are the people that give a $h*t. Do you really think the people with the careless, self-entitled attitudes care what the 'do-gooders' think? I doubt it.

The only rider demographic that probably benefits from this type of behavior discussion are the newbies who want to be courteous and respectful. Honestly, I feel the rest of us are kinda tired of reading the same talking points over and over again. I know I am and will try my best not to provoke this discussion in the future.

I've never seen anyone descend something like that before. I totally enjoyed it.

It reminded me of snowskiing in Europe, they'll crowd and knock you out of the way to enter the lift line. Strongest man downhill first. So, you skii at your own risk there.

I guess the saying is true, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

The rules are there for every trail users safety. If you don't like it, ride somewhere where the rules fit your perception of how you like to ride, like on a ski mountain with downhill trails, where hikers, equestrians and people that climb trails aren't an issue.
You are assuming that our rules of the trail apply here. First, this is in Italy, right? And it's been determined that this is a mountain bike park, right? So since this is a bike park in another country, I'm going to go ahead and assume that the yielding rules are probably very different on this trail.

Like everyone else has said, it gets tiring hearing the same old self-serving sense of entitlement jump-on-the-soapbox "downhillers are ruining it for everyone" babble. Give it a rest.

And who are you to tell someone they have no say or comment?

Gee thanks for the legal lesson. Isn't that what "ride at your own risk" signs are there for? We are all mere simpletons compared to your superior legal prowess. The sky is falling the sky is falling!

Wow, that's smart. A little covert set-up huh? You'll show them. I wonder if it will be worth it when all of you are in the hospital and your horse has to be put down. Then if the trail is closed (which it won't be), it will be your own fault. Endangering others so your own agenda can be served - solid work. Be sure to let us all know how it goes.

You think the trail won't get shut down... guess again.
Bikers are the first to get banned... Here is an example of just one guy screwing it up for everybody.

Stunt High Trail-Santa Monica Mountains

It doesn't matter if it's Equestrians, hikers, or other bikers, slow down, pass slowly, don't do anything to scare them lest you cause them to complain and ban all of us bikers.

Stunt High Trail-Santa Monica Mountains

I see you got some road apple on your face and downhill armor.

Boy, you sure got me on that one <yawn!> That trail was already closed to bikes, btw. Welcome to 10 years ago. And you're right, all downhillers must be stopped, because all downhillers are exactly like this guy. Please continue your crusade until downhill bikes are illegal. Keep fighting the good fight!
