i would be so tired even attempting that entire descent at half the speed of those guys with no brakes.

and i think that although they passed a bunch of guys and cut the one guy outside on a turn, the ones who got it the worse were the ones who didn't yield.

as far as cutting switchbacks, it almost looked like those inside lines were there for the purpose that they ended up being used for, passing by a faster rider.

a cool video that's had the fun taken out of it by another ethics discussion.

I think, and I could be wrong but I think that most of us are making fun of the typical ethics discussion that usually starts in this type of thread. I know I was.

I was kinda serious about having slower traffic get out of the way on the freeway

I think it says something like that on the banner tag line:

The rules are there for every trail users safety. If you don't like it, ride somewhere where the rules fit your perception of how you like to ride, like on a ski mountain with downhill trails, where hikers, equestrians and people that climb trails aren't an issue.
To be argumentative, did he ever say he would ruin the ride of the one going up? No. He rides what he rides and understands the rules of the trail and is willing to accept that in order to ride the way he wants. Your "perception" is not everyone elses. You want me to ride somewhere else? Fine, buy me a house in BC and I'll stop using the trails here.

The guy really effed up when he ran the rider outside in one of the turns. Then again, he was on his butt through a couple of turns. Maybe the other rider should have yielded to him. I mean If you haven't pulled way after a couple turns it seems like you should get out of the way. You know, it would be pretty cool if people did that on the freeway as well.
He almost sent a few riders off of the side of the hill. Sure, yielding would have avoided these situations, but the rider doing the passing has the responsibility to do it safely. I don't think anyone would appreciate being passed that aggressively on a recreational run (ie, not in a race). Hearing "you should have yielded to me" after a big wreck isn't going to help anyone.

I didn't say anything about getting anyone kicked off trails, so it sounds like you've got a chip on your shoulder from someone/some thing else.

They sure seemed to have the switchbacks dialed, at the expense of their tires though. I doubt the rear tires had much tread left on them after all that skidding. Not hating, just saying.

Awesome vid. The lack of horse crap in the middle of the trail was disturbing though.

Not saying that he was right, just saying the guy could have let him pass instead of trying to pick-up his pace. If someone is catching me climbing or descending, I try to let them pass. Courtesy should be a two-way street.

This was sarcasm pointed at the countless and I mean countless threads that suggest bad behavior of a few will have mountain biking outlawed for the whole. This of course is not something that I even want to debate nor did it have anything to do with your post. I just wanted to get the sarcasm out there before someone brought it up.

chauvie, the point is that we acknowledge others on the trail, and never bully others.

i agree with the fact that he was an a$$ for t-boning the guy from the inside, but EVERYONE has been an a$$ at one time or another.

EVERYONE should show proper trail manners, or feel the wrath of the STR.

bash em all!!!!

Peace guys and girls,

I didn't mean to stir the S*$% pot regarding trail manners...we ALL know the rules, and we ALL know - not everybody follows them. I just thought the trail and the guys speed going down was badA$% and wanted to share it for pure enjoyment!

I rode in Les 2 Alps in France a couple of summers ago, and it was the same way. On the downhill only trails, they expect you to give way to the faster riders. Great video though-those guys were moving. I would have had so much arm pump.
