What a great day for a ride! It was my first time on the bike in close to a year, and it was the GF's first time on a mountain bike period! Up til now, it was just a quick ride on the beach cruiser every now and then!

Big thanks to Danny (bighit) for loaning her the Specialized...if she did this well on a 40lb tank, she will certainly kick butt on a lighter bike!

The weather was perfect and I think we were all thankful to have a nice stress-relief ride before the Easter mayhem at home!

Those climbs are so easy, it's a joke!

Even at the end of the ride, after her legs felt like rubber, she decided she wanted to HUCK THE BIKE OFF A JUMP!

Her first time EVER mountain biking...on a 40lb downhill rig...with rubber legs after a good challenging ride...and my roller derby girl decides she wants to HUCK. Amazing! I give you...my Road Rash report!

...and not only is she LAUGHING, but when asked if she wants to ride next week, the answer was a resounding "Hell yes!"

So proud of her! Thanks for the support guys, she (and I!) had a great time. We will have to get her a bike sooner rather than later!

i wouldn't do it

Give her a lighter bike and you will eat her dust.

So how did I miss this one? There wasn't any sign of carnage at the last regroup, just a dirty top. She was a real trooper, but I can't help but think it would of only took 2 minutes to swap pedals and you could of been pushing that 40 lbs beast up those hills instead.

Glad she is still up for a ride next weekend.

We had a pretty good turn out, not sure how many but around 20.It was Apex8,s (sean) wifes(never cuaght here name) first ride I think.If I recall her handle was mother mayhem. She rode my BigHit on her first ride and completed it. Props, thats a hard ride on that bike for me at 43 lbs. She made the whole ride and at the end crashed,banged up her chin and was a little bloody.She was laughing about it.Pugz,slashusc,sweetpee,donnie,xcmike, oh forget names. I can never recall all, so if you rode chime in so I can know who you are.Jason and I (slashusc) decided to do a second loop with Herald.I had my crash for the day at the very end of the loop also.My bar cuaght a tree branh. Other than pine needles up my shorts I was ok.We didnt see the Easter bunny or find any eggs.Booh

Ride was a lot of fun and your lady did an amazing job on that heavy ass bike. Glad that so many people were able to come out, I really only expected a couple of people to have the time.

I was gonna let her use my mongoose, but its a large frame, her back and knees would have got killed!

Hey, howcome this is the only RR thread in this section? It was moved from all the other RR's to here instead. Is a trip to Fullerton not cool enough to be listed with all the other RR's? Pshaw!

Maybe because you called it a "Road Rash" report instead of a "Ride Report"! Hopefully the Easter Bunny brought something to make the pain go away
