Like father, like son. I see that Jake has already taken up your mantle!

Please wish him well and a happy birthday for us. Glad to hear it was only some scratches and broken bike parts.

Thumbs up Glad to hear the srout is doing OK...

Unfortunately, this won't be the last blood he sheds doing this sport.... it's just such a helpless feeling when you see your child hurt. You want to make it go away immediately... but it won't and that is one of the ways that we learn ...

Happy Birthday To Jake and to many more rides with him and his proud poppa!

BTW: that's suspose to be sprout .... what the heck is a srout???

Great to hear he is doing well. Sounds as though he landed it pretty good but perhaps the seat was to high and smashed him in the gut upon landing?

Well, here's to a good B-day tomorrow.

That's what I was thinking also.

And it wasn't just the stock no-name seatpost either.
It was an SDG I-Beam post....

Just for kicks, here's his new ride.....

I replaced it tonight with a Thomson. If he bends it, I'm gonna stick a steel rod down in there.

It's in situations like that that you see the real people side. We all got in situation, Darin took care of Jake, Brett and I rode back to my house to get the cars and pick up everyone. Troy (Thinkfast) rode by alone, stopped and offered to help bring Jake's bike down the hill to save us a trip back up.

On the flip side of this: when we were stopped on the trail, Jake was full of blood, these 3 riders coming from Ladera rode by us, they never slowed down, never asked "are you OK?", never even made eye contact. They seemed very inconvenienced that we took most of the trail.

That's a parent's biggest fear. Seeing your kids hurt. I'm glad it wasn't more serious. Happy Birthday, Jake.

It always feels good to try to help out.

I learned from watching how well you all handled the situation after I arrived. Darin handled everything like he has had a little experience .

Happy birthday Jake. Your a tough young man.
