Alpine Rob, Chipster and I had an awesome ride up in Ventura County's Pt. Mugu State Park today. The weather could not have been better. Mid 60's start in full sun. The trails were in good shape and their still was loads of green grass and wildflowers in bloom.
For those of you who have never ridden hear I highly recommend it. Here is our route on Geoladders. After the ride we celebrated with some ice cold Port Brewing Company Shark Bite Red on the beach which had just come off the bottling line last night. Mmmmm good! Well worth the drive for the miles of flowing singletrack. Big_syc_001.jpg Heading down the Backbone Trail. Big_syc_002.jpg Beautiful flowers on the Overlook fire road. Big_syc_003.jpg Wood Canyon. Big_syc_004.jpg Looking north toward Camarillo on the Guadalusca Trail. Big_syc_005.jpg Overlook on the Guadlusca Trail. Big_syc_006.jpg Northern Guadalusca singletrack is amazing! Big_syc_007.jpg More Guadalusca. Big_syc_008.jpg Reminds me of just near Cholla in Aliso. Big_syc_009.jpg The Old ranger station...we think. Big_syc_010.jpg Rob hammering up a gully climb. Big_syc_011.jpg Cresting out on a connector singletrack into a fantastic meadow. Big_syc_012.jpg I think I hear the sound of music! Big_syc_013.jpg Rob and I in the meadow. Big_syc_014.jpg Meadow bar shot. Big_syc_015.jpg Chipster loving the Two Foxes Trail which is 100% singletrack. |

I just bought that house for the low California price of 1.62 million dollars.

Seriously this place is worth the drive. It's like Aliso or El Moro but with more singletrack and expanse. Really just alot of fun. Suggest a stop at Neptune's Nest along PCH for grub and atmosphere. It's about 2.5 miles south of Big Sycamore Trailhead on PCH.
